      @@jtmoffroad maybe you can help me out.my avalanche has the hydro brake system.what kind of brake fluid do I use?also my brake light on the dash comes on and off yet I'm full of fluid.thank you for any help .?

      Owners manual will tell you which fluid to use but I’ve always used whatever latest dot is. Brake light could be something else in the system. Using a code reader may tell you.

    You are the only guy on TH-cam to install that on a gmt800 platform. Also one of the only guys to do a full install video. I’m really thinking of making my own video as well

    I’ve been eyeing up a lift kit for the last few weeks. I realize your lift kit was a “good buy” for you, but if you had to do it again, would you look at a skyjacker or BDS? Right now I think the RC lift is about $800 less than a BDS, and about 1k less than skyjacker. The only lift that doesn’t do the NDT is the skyjacker. Anyway, I am leaning toward the RC due to the fact that it looks quality, and now I’ve seen one installed. Did they offer a longer rear shock option, or did it have an extension for the factory rear shock? And I was also looking at some MOOG control arms with the new ball joint already installed. They offer an offset version, to allow more degrees of adjustment. Do you think that would have been a better option for the RC lift install, or just maybe yours because the upper A arm issues? I also “heard” that you can install second gen axles on the first gen and ditch the axle spacers. Have you tried that? I like your videos, thanks for posting them. It’s nice to see real world car vids, especially with an avalanche.

      I can’t say anything bad about this rough country lift, haven’t had a single problem. I also haven’t tried the other lift kits, but if this kit does what I want, why spend the extra money. The kit just comes with rear shock extensions but I plan on ditching for longer shocks. I just need to make sure it didn’t change any angles that would make the shock body hit the axle, I doubt it though. That’s my two cents on that. The control arms I got were moog with ball joints already installed, I didn’t get the offset but that isn’t my issue. The cam bolt pin broke when it was getting aligned so I need to weld one in place to get a proper alignment. I’ve also heard about the second gen axles. I haven’t done that yet but it makes so much sense, I’ll be doing that eventually.

    Just re did 3/4 of all my front end components. Wondering if this RC steering stabilizer will work on a Fabtech lift?

    • @jtmoffroad
      @jtmoffroad  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It connects from the rough country front diff drop bracket to the tie rod. If the drop bracket is similar I would think so but couldn’t say for sure. That’s a good question!

    Sooooooo I know this is an older upload but I have to ask because it’s such a cheap purchase. It doesn’t state that it will fit my application. But, would this work for a 2003 Avalanche that has a RC 6” lift but, is a 2WD?
    Really hoping you see this.

    have you checked for slop in your steering shaft or box

    • @jtmoffroad
      @jtmoffroad  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn’t have it before the bigger tires. Maybe a smaller problem with one of them got magnified when the bigger tires got added. I’ll have to double check but I think they were good before the lift. I have the typical shaft rattle that comes with those trucks but I do have a new one to throw in eventually

    So could I put a stabilizer on my 2017 Tacoma with 6” and 35s to eliminate pulling to the right?
    I’ve tried getting alignments and tire rotations and it never helps.
    I mean do they even make a stabilizer for an independent front suspension?

    Can someone with basic mechanical knowledge help me? I have an 04 Chevy avalanche z71 PKG. when I try to start the truck, it takes forever to turn over. My friend told me he thinks it's because my truck is allowing too much gas to pass through (or something, something about flooding) and it's not evaporating fast enough...what's a fix for this?
