Hi. I also encountered this problem as well. I have managed to solve it. It turns out that when you put the directory into the text file, you need to save the changes. You can do this by closing the text file, a pop up window should appear asking if you want to save the changes or not, click save. Open a new command prompt and type hadoop. Things should work now.
incase anyone else runs into this problem you have to get a 8.3 filename for your file path. You can do this by going to your jdk location in file explorer and then in the file path paste this in `for %I in (.) do echo %~sI` for me this turned C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17 into C:\PROGRA~1\Java\jdk-17

Got through everything and went I type JPS it states it is not recognized and when I go to check the localhost nothing is generated.
