Maurice is my favorite Bee Gee; the genius behind the scenes.

Maurice was hands down the most musically inclined of the three of them. Just listen to that groove.

I'd love to hear more Bee Gees songs like this cause I love percussion and bass together. Also love the originals, of course - but, I'd like to hear ALL the bass licks that are in their songs cause some I can't pick out. 😉

Maurice fue el más talentoso de todos los hermanos...además era alegre y divertido...llevaba el ritmo en su cuerpo ...una ductil voz y una presencia. Arrolladora.Siempre estarás en mi corazón amado MO...

I received the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack LP for my 9th birthday and have been playing bass since I was 14. But only now have realised that Maurice was the genius bass player on their 60s and 70s recordings .
Thabk you so much for sharing this!

Great use of chromatic runs and licks. In a full recording setting it's not as obvious, but here you can hear him just slinking around.

@@JStevenBroome I read Dennis Bryon's book. Stills was apparently out drinking with Joe Lala and they came into the studio in the middle of the night to record Joe's part. Apparently the jam at the end is literally just that, Stills and Lala jamming out in one take.

Just want to correct one name spelling. Dennis Bryon not Byron. Poor guy probably gets that all the time.

Maurice (pronounced like Morris in America) Gibb was the Bass Boss with the Sauce.
