This should be on Netflix and advertised on there. Its amazing. Thank you so much for creating. Knowledge, the music working with it like a big BBC production.
Absolutely bloody beautiful production buddy, spent so much of my Career on Dartmoor in the Marines and many year at 42 Commando on the moor, I know live close enough to her to see her Tors from my house 🏡 I’m only 46 but my injuries prevent me from being able to yomp around unfortunately so I’m incredibly grateful for this video you have made and shared - it’s really picked up my day! 🤗🤝
I do not know why the algorithm suggested this 3 year old video. But I am glad it did. This was so stunning I had to stop doing the washing up and sit down and watch it properly. It made me feel quite emotional, beautifully composed. You should feel proud. I now want to revisit Dartmoor for the forests.
An incredibly well made, and beautiful documentary, I live on the edge of Dartmoor, and it is a very beautiful place, well done and thank you for making this film.
You have shot and produced a gem of a Dartmoor video here. All of the segments work and are beautiful; the one with the mists in the valleys which ends in a thunderstorm is sublime. Perople who love Dartmoor will share a link to your channel I'm sure. To go onto mainstream media all that's required is some continuity between the segments.
I grew up on the edge of Dartmoor in a farming area near Okehampton. So we would regularly go on out on the moor for the day and loved going through the forests. So thank you for this video as it brought back so many memories. I now live in SW Hampshire but still think of Dartmoor as home. Take care and best wishes
As a foreigner who has never visited UK I think you have made a great documentary of the wonders of nature UK can offer. When I think of UK it comes to mind that it is almost a barren island with no major forests but it seems that it's not all fields and sheep.
A very nice video with some beautiful scenes. As a Norwegian who are used to see thick forest stretching into the horizon, it’s sad to see how there are only small patches of forest left in the UK 😢
Well there are only small patches of the original native forests. We have a lot more recent forests, and even more commercial forestry. It's all green on the map, but it's not the same as the real thing!
Not sure how I stumbled onto this video but I couldn't stop watching it. I live in California and this somewhat reminded me of the temperate rainforests in the pacific northwest of the US, minus the towering old growth redwood trees. You have a stunning landscape there, it's too bad so much of the forests have been cut down - just like our beloved redwood groves where only 5% remain. Thanks for the video.
Haha youtube can take you down to rabbit holes sometimes 😂 glad you enjoyed the video though. I've actually visited that part of the states and it was stunning. That entire Pacific North West is unreal 😍
@@MagicCarpetMedia Oh, very nice. I'm glad you visited. I really need to get back to the UK, I've only been once and stayed in London and Bath, but would love to do more exploring at some point.
Dartmoor is possibly my most favourite area of England, I've been to a couple of it's small Ancient forest's but where is that vast, for today's standards, Valley Forest you portray at the beginning of this short film ?? We would love to walk around it and enjoy its history, peace and tranquility. We are devastating our land for profits and we need to start replenishing our land for the pleasure of our future generations, fast, but only as a united people can we realistically accomplish that task . A beautifully filmed video.
This video came up while I was searching for a documentary video on forests, I am glad to have seen such a wonderful work of art. Reflecting the natural beauty of our world, so thankful for that!
Valuable footage, tastefully filmed and an excellent background music. Just the unknown side of Dartmoor to many of us, who knew about the forest spots in the area but never saw so closely and beautifully filmed.
So wonderful and a surprise, who would have thought that Dartmoor contained this. I thought I knew about Dartmoor because of my time in the Army marching across the terrain.
Thank you for creating this gem of a video. Absolutely beautiful work and what an incredible place to explore. I’ve trailed across parts of the moor, it brought back some wonderful memories. Again, thanks
Well shot with some creative treatments of an inspiring countryside in all conditions. Although, 30 degrees for us is barely warm! You have done the landscape a favour by pointing how special it truly is and how we should do more to preserve special places like Dartmoor. I say the following from decades of experience of producing content. keep producing great content.
I am absolutely blown away by your video. You have captured well the beauty of Dartmoor, more so stirring emotions in me with those extremely beautiful forest scenes with picturesque flowing rivers. Have been feeling a bit exhausted but upon seeing your lovely documentary, a sudden sense of peace and energy seems to have lifted me. You have captured nature beautifully. Well done indeed.
Beautiful mate. I live in Australia but always hoped Britain still had some beautiful forests. Very well filmed and very enjoyable. Australia is vast and dry but the forests we still have are sadly being destroyed by logging thanks to greedy government and industry. I hope you can protect what you have remaining.
Sadly a lot of ours (I'm in UK) have been destroyed as well, by logging then replacing with evergreen monocultures. But we do still have some gems like these, and the drier ancient forests of Sussex, Hampshire, and Kent left, and fragments of the Caledonian forests.
Wow some of your filming is absolutely spectacular and I love the time lapse photography with the swirling mists clouds and stars. Absolutely beautiful.
Well done boys ,excellent filming. Our planet today, one wonders what will be left in a 100 years time. Lets look after our beautiful world and don't treat it like it belongs to someone else! 😊
Great video thanks for sharing, got some nice shots of the area but nothing like a good as this. Overlooked the woodlands in Dartmoor, but they have become one of the highlights for me. Exmoor and the Quantocks have some great Oak wooded areas well worth a visit too.
Really cool film. Great music, great shots. Love Dartmoors woods, they deserve more protection! I loved the time-lapse shots at the end. Very mind blowing !
Well done! This is a very good film, and you must have put in much time and effort here. Dartmoor is indeed a somewhat barren (and, as you say) very wet place. I have been fortunate enough not have lived there for a good many years. Your time-lapse clips give it drama and impact, and the brightly saturated colours lift what can be a very stark, and sometimes, rather gloomy, expanse. All shot on your Sony a7iii. !!! A great achievement indeed.
Such a beautiful place. Your film is worth watching over and over again, the vistas and sounds are calming and just as you said, a reminder of the power of nature to the human soul. Look forward to your next film.
This is brilliant! I love Dartmoor's secret little woodlands. As you say, so overlooked! I'd love to see them expand with some rewilding over the coming decades... I have already noticed a few places where they've crept beyond where the OS maps say they should be.
A beautiful and wonderfully edited and conceived video! I live in Chicago but I'd love to spend my remaining years in and around this beautiful area. Dartmoor calls.
Wow, the video is exquisite and the audio is very evocative and perfectly matches the subject matter - this is indeed a gem of a documentary. I particularly appreciated you using voiceovers sparingly, allowing the video to speak for itself. I look forward to seeing your next production!
The butterfly at 4:05 is worth its own video, its own entire scholarly discipline, its own era of history, its nomination as a god of men, its honor of nominal reference in the sacred anatomy of obstetrics, its regard of an international holiday celebrating universal peace, for which Kant so longed, when universal peace descends, finally, upon the Planet of High Holy Lepidoptera.
What a lovely area great video, we need to preserve places like this in the UK we have lost most of our trees.Hopefully many more places in Britain can look like this in the future, i didn't know that dartmoor had so many trees it's fantastic.Thank you for showing us around the national park.
I knew about Dartmood by the Agatha Christie's "The thirteen problems" but I have never thought that Dartmood so beautiful plase thank you for sharing video 🖐👍
Fabulous filming and a real interesting habitat. Guy Shrubsole's "The Lost Rainforests of Great Britain" landed on my doorstep yesterday and I came onto You Tube to see if anyone has covered anything on stuff like this - well done, brillliantly filmed and narrated. Can I ask which was the woodland you were in at 14:36, loved the section of b-roll of you walking at 15.03 was very Tolikenesque with that mist in the background. The woodland you did not disclose I think I know of this plkace although I have never been - it's a popular place for photographers I believe. Anyway, great job. Atb Alan
Me and my son went wildcamping at Dartmoor in 2016, we camped at black tor just above the ancient woods, in the morning we had our breakfast on a big rock in the middle of the stream at the bottom of the woods, it was absolutely stunning!
i was on dartmoor today i lived in prince town and thought i knew the moors, found your youtube, i want to explore the ancient woods and forest thankyou.

Our local youth group has a trip planned to Dartmoor. Can we use some of the video footage (not the music) for a reel?
Sri Lankan Living in UK. Still starting to explore the beauty of England. This was a Gem of a video. Thanks for the efforts mate. 🎉
A brilliant film. We have a tiny amount of such ancient rainforest in Wales too. But do not give the location away too readily. Stunning.
God I can’t wait to be home from uni to be back on Dartmoor

🇬🇧 I agree. Beautiful video.
Spent the majority of the last 3-4 years in Dartmoor very quickly taught me to love this country again

Devon and Dartmoor especially is in my opinion the moste beautifull place on earth hands down.

You have never been to the Yorkshire dales then!
