The Sisters of Mercy are an English rock band, formed in 1980 in Leeds. After achieving early underground fame there, the band had their commercial breakthrough in the mid-1980s and sustained it until the early 1990s, when they stopped releasing new recorded output in protest against their record company WEA. Currently, the band are a touring outfit only.
The group has released three original studio albums, the last of which was released in 1990. Each album was recorded by a different line-up; singer-songwriter Andrew Eldritch and the drum machine called Doktor Avalanche are the only points of continuity throughout. Eldritch and Avalanche were also involved in The Sisterhood, a side-project connected with Eldritch's dispute with former members.
The group ceased recording activity in 1993, when they went on strike against Time Warner, which they accused of incompetence and withholding royalties. Although Time Warner released them from their contract in 1997, they have not signed to another label nor released any new material, despite showcasing numerous new songs in their live sets.
Former members of the group established the bands Ghost Dance and The Mission. - เพลง

I saw them 1993 in Berlin life , never forgot it , togehter with The Ramones on a Festival , i was a Fan after this :)) We had so much Luck to be young in the 80s and 90s :)
Vocally bliss. Even the doctor doesn;t sound this good anymore.
The guitar sound that Hussey took with him to the Mish. The bass sound that Adams took with him to the Mish.
as much as i love the album, i think the live performance really brings out his voice and i actually prefer this version of the song partly cuz its an octave higher but also because the emotion he puts into the song
It is not so easy to sing it powerfully enough an octave lower live, he would have needed a good day to perform it well. But it still wouldn't be nothing like so effortless, strong and full of emotions as this version is, until Eldritch was a deep basso. Which he is not. So it was a good decision from him and this is a very good version of this beautiful song.

Dress in bright clothes with some black items in wardrobe but yet I'm no goth total opposite with clothes but the music had such beauty deep meaning total respect to goths and I saw an amazing women in leicester one day dressed in spandex tights leather coat she was so amazing nice black hair 35 years old never seen her since oh well anyway this band are simply amazing clever articulate interesting his voice so perfect life is a crazy world the guy has a real view on the world ❤

I guess this lady was about 35 so amazing perfect looks and a nice smile. Lots of goth music really is very special. I think we all have a sense of humour really.but there's a dark side to human nature
