How is your spouse?
In other video, Mark said something to the affect of, "Loving God should be our ultimate goal. Man is the first creation closest to God. When we fall away from God, we use the use next best thing: other people". It was like a revelation. I had never thought about that way but it is so true. I definitely want to get married and have children and I will keep faith that this will happen. But in my singleness, I am constantly remind myself to never let anything replace God and to never forget about God whenever I blessings come regardless of what they are.

@@clayton4917Love isn't tangible. Intelligence isn't tangible. Wisdom isn't tangible. Hate isn't tangible. These examples are tangible when they are spoken or acted upon. The same goes for God. We know He exists based on His word and His constant presence in our lives. However, many people title God's presence as a coincidence, Mother Nature, the elements, etc., giving away God's word credit
I get it now. Marriage and singleness are gifts from God to help grow a relationship with Him which is the ultimate blessing. 😀
This is such a blessing. I'm so tired of hearing people on social media say that we have to jump thru hoops for God to bless us with marriage. This gave me so much peace after watching a video talking about doing some ridiculous tasks. It's like they tell us we must be perfect in order to be blessed with a spouse. God bless you Mark.

I think if there are people are social media telling you to "jump thru hoops" to get married, then it's pride. You see success and now you think you are an expert. I think it's akin to when people have well-behaved children and now give themselves too much credit for it. It's an issue for all of us. We lean on God.

Obviously I know my being single doesn't mean I don't love God enough, but we rarely hear this as Christians. We always hear that we aren't mature or worthy enough of marriage, like it's the ultimate gift. A married Christian saying this means so much.

Nothing will help you outside of yourself. I have saved myself from several marriages that would have ended quickly. They were based on finance, depression, immigration. I was praying for a happy marriage when these women tempted me with a quick fix to marriage. God doesn't give a hoot about our marriages because it would mean he'd have to mess with free will. Relationships in church are just like relationships in the world. Sometimes they work out, and sometimes they don't. There are divorces in church just like there are in the world. signed Bitter Old Man who is pissed because I don't have a good wife. I admit it.

I'm going to have to say not necessarily. it's entirely possible that marriage could be an idol to us. Therefore God may not bless us with a spouse because He is jealous for our affections. However, God doesn't owe us marriage. He never promised us that He would reward our faithfulness with a spouse. If we are serving God strictly for what we can get out of it, then we do not truly love Him. Salvation is the greatest gift that we could ever receive and God is incredibly merciful and gracious to give us that. We were created to give God glory. What that looks like in each believer's life depends on God's will for that person's life. As believers, our ultimate goal should be to want what God wants for us and learn how to be content under any circumstances.
I am healthy because of God's love and I have been ready for a relationship but they have not been ready for marriage.
It's very common to hear that if you were only a better Christian then God would bless you with marriage - I've heard it myself from a close family member (she used different words but it came down to the same thing); and it truly traumatized me for days. I cried for hours afterward. Couldn't eat or sleep. It was horrible and I'll never forget it.
I will never be 'perfect'. No matter how hard I try, it will never be good enough. I will always have my faults, weaknesses and so on. But so will everyone else - including those who are married and engaged. I do not know why there is this 'hierarchy' in Christian dating culture regarding marriage and singles - and that those who are married must be considered 'complete' and worthy - (just because they are married), and those who are still waiting for marriage must be automatically 'sinful' and ugly in some way, but it's a total lie and so so damaging. This message needs to change. I have seen plenty of comments on other vids from Mark from people who say things like, 'I haven't dated anyone for 5 years, and I know God is keeping me from meeting someone because I need to work on this' or 'I'm 37 and I've never dated anyone, I know that when I'm ready, God will give me the One.' Reading those comments makes me wonder: have those people been told (very subtly) that when they reach a new level of spiritual 'wholeness' and 'worthiness' then that's when they'll be good enough for marriage?
In my singleness & the pain thereof. I honestly do not have a heart’s desire for God anymore. It is gone.

The best thing is to practice patience, forgiveness, listening and a non judgmental attitude.I just try to get inside people's heads and understand why they do thing they do.... All the marriages you see aren’t necessarily birth in heaven either. I agree with you about “loving God” leading to marriage (it doesn’t). It should affect how you come together however. I’m tired of running into “Christian counterfeits”and just want to meet “the one” and get married. I don’t want NO MORE MESSY MEN. And don’t tell me to stay single.

Mark i wanted to say, their are people that don't even call on God's name or even love him, so why have the nerve to say are you single because you don't love God enough, that may not be true in a lot of situations, every one have their own path to take in God, it may not be that person time yet, to get married, and i will also tell you this, if a person is living all they can according to God's word they will get blessed, the righteous is not forsaken.
Guess Corrie ten Boom didn't love the Lord enough then. Sarcasm. Guy just didnt want her cause his mom thought she wasn't rich enough. It enabled her to love the unlovable when she asked God to turn her love for him into His Love.

I ws a disappointed single too. But recently i realised my to b husband is not here but it's only God who is protecting n caring for me. Loving / prioritising/ desiring God more than a spouse makes sense. Serving God, ppl n doing his work while v hav time as singles n later when v receive d gift of marriage itself is gud. First and foremost God wants to protect us as His children. He doesn't force us to follow Him and equally He doesn't force the person He has in mind for us to stay committed to Him. Therefore it is logical that if we are to remain under His protection, we may need to wait for that person as both grow in spiritual maturity and steadfastness. At the right time that person will become apparent to you. The instruction on marriage is always to seek first the kingdom so that you can then form a threefold cord with God in it. It might be because He loves you that He has let you remain single a while longer than you expected. Being married to the wrong person spiritually is destructive to your faith and relationship with God. He wants a couple to grow together, not shrink back.

In my 2¢ advice because is been 11 months, pick a partner who accepts you as you are and someone you can accept for who they are. Understand for each age range of there are different prices, sacrifices, benefits and cost, and each person measures value according to their communication development and personal social experience.
Sometimes it just is not God’s Will for some people to be married. I think God CALLS some to forsake marriage for his Kingdom. But that is not taught very much in the non-Catholic Christian churches.
It seems sometimes that God picks people who truly want to be married to be single.🤔

There is a statement that says those who pray together stay together but I believe you will never find the right person to love if you don't even have enough love in your heart to love God. You will probably need to be more active in meeting people other than in your church. It's a big world out there. Don't get trapped in the four walls where your church meets.
