Ian Costew - Machine Builder | STEM Heroes

Ian explains his job at Heler Machine Tool and how a machine builder is an essential role at the company. He is a graduate of the MAT(squared) program - a Governor Snyder initiative that partners colleges with employers to create intensive 3 year apprenticeship programs. He describes what the program was like, and the sort of opportunities it has given him. He also describes why we need to encourage more youth to go into STEM careers, and also change our attitudes about apprenticeships and jobs like his - they are incredibly important for our future.
