    Another wonderful video! My husband has enjoyed woodturning for a few years....now I'm learning to enjoy this hobby as much or more than he does! We are blessed to each have our own midi lathes... So we
    both can turn at the same time! Your videos are helping me to understand the terms and techniques that will help me grow from a novice to a seasoned turner much more quickly than I could on my own. Thank You!

    I'm in the planning stage of getting my first lathe. Checking out the different youtube videos on which chucks and chisels and tools to get. Thank you for putting your info out there. Do prefer the shorter videos. Plan on looking back on some of your previous videos.

      I have revisited the video length several times. I would have split this if it were a new video but just went on automatic pilot keeping it one like the orginal I edited. My general rule is make it as long as it needs to be but when it gets about 24 - 28 min, split into two.

    I'm always looking for tips, tricks, and jigs and such. I did get some ideas from this video and in my opinion I do believe that the longer video 20-30 minutes is a better time frame for a video with this kind of content. I for one generally skip over 5 minute videos because I usually find them a waste of my time.
    You touched on keeping your bed ways smooth and sliding easy WD40 and rubbing down. Well a lot of your viewers don't have the high quality lathe that you have so take that information back a bit farther and talk about removing the bad casting on the inside of bed rails, underside of banjos and tailstocks, and casting on outside edge of bed rail.

    • @MikePeaceWoodturning
      @MikePeaceWoodturning  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fortunately for me, I don't have any poor quality lathe beds with bad castings needing rework.

    Mike for your rubber handle holder trick, on your newer C model just use one of those Command wall hook things to hold it up on the slope. It would be easy to remove whenever you needed to do so. Cheers, Tom

    Very good tips thank you. At 8:33 there is something on your lathe bed made of wood, not sure what that is. I love my 3520C and am still getting used to it. Installed the tail-stock swing away now I can get enough length to turn my canes in one piece. They should be at least 36" and I prefer one piece.

      You mean like disappearing after a while? It is a lot of work and quite challenging for anyone with a day job. For others, sometimes it is age and health like Cpt Eddie. It takes a lot of determination
      to keep it up week after week since it does not provide a minimum wage. I have been at it 5 years. Not sure when I will hit a wall.
