    I needed to change out the heater/ac control panel on my mom's 2002 Buick Century. I purchased an OEM AC/Delco replacement through WalMart for $146.00. The right side switch on the old panel was stuck/frozen between Vent and Bi-Level position. It was OK during the summer, but in the winter I couldn't get any heater/defrost function. It looks like GM/Buick has kept the exact dash panel from at least 1998-2002. Looking at your video made my job a whole lot easier. For my job all I had to do was to start at the :43 second mark of the video. I removed the two bottom screws of the center plastic piece that covers the heater/ac control. Once the screws are removed, just like he says, grab the panel on the left and right top corners and give a sharp pull and it popped right out. Next, I just un-clipped the three modular heater/ac connectors on the back of the heater/ac control module, then reconnected and reassembled everything. It took me all of 10 minutes. Thanks a lot for this great video!

    Thanks for showing how you cut the back plastic to install the radio. Other video on radio installation for this car omit this step. I have purchased car radios through crutchfield. They give free customer support for installation problems and for a low price or free include wire harness and the mounting brackets for the radios and email instructions on how to dismantle the dash and doors to install radio and speakers for any car. .

    Anyone here working with an 04 Buick Century. My 03 century had an aftermarket head unit, I removed it along with the metro harness thinking it would be an easy swap into my 04 Century but it turns out GM changed harness in 04. Also I appreciate the response. thank you.

    • @DIYAUTOCAR
      @DIYAUTOCAR 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Isaiah Watson Ok, so you have all of that hooked up and you are not getting sound right?
      It sounds like the vehicle may have a factory amplifier. What color wires do you have left over on the car side that didn't get hooked up? If memory serves me right, you should have a pink wire left over on the car side harness.
      If you do, then you need to hook up the amp turn-on wire from the aftermarket radio to that pink wire. The aftermarket color for that should be blue with a white stripe.

      Usually in the specifications/manual for the head unit will say it. Or you can check the model on Crutchfield.com and if they carry it they will if it is compatible with steering wheel controls. A separate adapter will be needed for this though.

    hey where can i find information on the wiring for matching up wires to the aftermarket head unit?

    • @DIYAUTOCAR
      @DIYAUTOCAR 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +cody9916 The best method is always to just buy the aftermarket wiring adapter. For a car like this, you can get it pretty much anywhere for around $10. I don't ever recommend just cutting into the factory wiring. More often than not, people screw it up and cause more issues. But, the website that I use for reference is the12volt.com. There are many diagrams on there for car electronics wiring and vehicle specific diagrams as well. I do stress though, you should be testing/verifying your connections with a DMM.

    HI and thanks on your video maybe you can help me with my Buick 2003 Lesabre I purchased 2 months ago with only 40K on it Mint yet just yesterday I noticed the left top corner of my radio led it was flashing then went off when I started the car , when I shut the car off it flashes doors locked, well this never happened before however I did peel off the protective film I noted on the radio plastic face last week so I figure I got a new radio with this car . so is this this just a delayed thing that the cars computer recognized the radio for the first time or is something wrong or normal now

    • @DIYAUTOCAR

    • @DIYAUTOCAR
      @DIYAUTOCAR 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have a multimeter available? If the radio will take the CD but the display doesn't light up it is likely that you are not getting power to either the yellow wire or the red wire. Yellow should have 12v constant, and red should have 12v when the key is turned to the on position. And of course, the black wire should read ground at all times. With those 3 wires properly connected, you should at least get the radio to turn on and light up. Assuming that the radio is functional...
