  • The plaintiff is suing his mother for holding his things and refusing to return them. He is suing her the cost of the items. The defendant claims that her son was arrested for a DUI, and she took the car, which is in her name, away from him. She claims he got so angry that he moved out of the house and told her she could do whatever she wanted with the stuff he left behind.

I’m really wondering if the dad or someone else abused the son and then he turned around and did it to his sister. Either way, this case was shocking and sad. They should not have been on tv with this. My heart goes out to the sister, she is a certified survivor!

Nobody could have foreseen that bombshell. Totally separate from that is what I've noticed about his demeanor, attitude, monotone, lack of emotion, etc that has become so common in males currently under the age of 30 that use to be extremely rare. My son and all his friends in their mid to late 20's are like a hundred generations removed from my own. As a whole they are so removed emotionally, emasculated and trying to redefine what is naturally male, lack social skills in comparison to every previous generation. I'm proud of my son and love him in every way but it's like he and his generation largely rejects anything masculine and having a really difficult time finding their true selves or place in this world. Not at all the same with my daughter or her friends in the same age group.

I'm pretty sure she allowed her mom to say it. You can see her nodding to Michelle before she says it. But still, even though I don't think he would've won the case if they omitted the assault, it _was_ relevant information if they ever wanted to counter his abuse allegation. If they only said "actually, my husdband wanted nothing to do with him after an incident that happened 4 years ago", judge Marilyn probably would've asked for clarification anyway. I don't think they should've aired it, but I think it wasn't out of line to bring it up (since Alexa seems to have agreed to do it).

Jacob was a child of 13 then. I am sure he will be very sorry (if not already) for what happened, if he ever quits having to carry the guilt himself. How dare adults not give him the love & understanding....and help....he needed through this! He gave his Sister the Mountain Bike (which is very expensive) & now wanted it back because she doesn't use it! From the age of 13 on he was treated badly by family. First of all the judge missed an opportunity here. CLEARLY something happened to the son as well. He’s drinking, he’s despondent and allegedly sexually assaulted his sister at a young age. She only mentioned the S/A (AFTER) he started talking about the extreme amount of abuse in the house. Dad was probably abusive to the son (must have broken his nose at some point, too) and tried to make himself better by using the so-called abuse (we have no facts that it actually happened) as a way to make himself look better. Daughter has issues. Son has issues. Father sounds like he was abusive. Mom doesn't seem to want to talk about anything that happened to the son, just the daughter. Everyone is at fault. Bad parenting.

I am an SA/R survivor and my heart hurts for the sister. The mother had no right to bring that up - it should have been up to the daughter bring up on her own. I've had family members bring up my own traumas to garner their own sympathies and its nauseating. (Despite her saying she was okay with it being mentioned.)
I feel like the plantif went through something similar tbh. Abused people, can tend to also become abusers, sadly. Acting out situations they've been through.
He brought up 7 being the age things changed with his father... What exactly happened to that boy at 7? I feel like he was absolutely abused, in all the ways he mentioned and perhaps more. I feel like the mom refused to see or believe it. Leaving him broken and him in turn breaking his sister.
Both children need healing and my heart hurts for them both! 😔💔

He could have also told her and she just didn't believe it because the father was that sneaky. Doesn't excuse his behavior but this dude clearly needs mental help. I find it odd the father wanted nothing to do with his son after the alleged sexual assault. I'm not saying they made it up. The reason the son seems to have dead or flat expression is most likely from all the abuse and "grey rocking". The mother and father may have been jointly abusive to both the kids, but the daughter sucks up as a saftey percausion as the golden child. The children can end up becoming narcissists too. Both the mother and father could have sexually abused their own children. This does not excuse the son sexually abusing the sister, if that event is true.

1st of all, this is not LIVE tv. The show is taped and edited. If the sister had not given her permission, it would not have been broadcast. 2nd, the judge asked why the rift with the father and the mother answered the question with the sister's permission. The parties are vetted. They know beforehand what the issues are. The producers do not broadcast anything that would make them liable. I find it hard to believe that the son would consent to be on this show knowing the allegation would likely come out.

Many, Many children play sex & a lot of parents never find out. As long as they have told on Jacob, why don't they tell the whole story? I don't feel they would tell the truth! I feel sorry for the Sister too, but no more than I feel sorry for him. Not saying that he didn’t do what she accused him of not saying that he did or didn’t do what she’s accusing him of. But it seems like she says that she never experienced that behavior with him and that they were super close. But then in another breath then they’re throwing out these little things like he was such a terrible person so it’s like which one is it. It definitely does seem like something happened to him and they don’t want to talk about that, they just wanna paint this picture of him.

I was not penetrated, but I suffered emotionally. I never thought I was as good as the other little girls I went to school with. I felt "it was my fault". I felt dirty. I can't even imagine the horrors of being penetrated! It took years to deal with it in my mind. I think when my brother-in-law passed away, I finally had relief! I remember reading about a girl that had been abused (sexually) & was told by ignorant people that "she should make up with her Dad because she would be sorry she didn't some day!" Fortunately the answer to her was "usually they are relieved when a molester dies". I was & I think that is when I could finally come to terms. My Mother called me, one day, and said he died. My response was "Thank God". He was a useless piece of flesh! Who knows how many other little girls he messed up their childhood. This is my thing yes we appreciate mothers for giving us life but at the same time non of us asked to be here... therefore we're human and want to do things for us....I have a mother that threw away all my things when I first tried to move out and she fought me every step of the way because she didn't want me to move out. But that still doesn't give her the right to physically, verbally,or emotionally abuse me just because she's my "mother".
Our generation really needs to break this cycle.! I firmly stand on that. Just because you share the same blood as another person:relative, that doesn't give them the right to mistreat you.! Period.

    Some things I find odd...
The mother seems relatively unaffected by her daughters trauma ... rather, she is seen smiling as if she was vindicated yet her daughter is in shambles...
The son mentioned that he has been the black sheep of the family since he was 7, and whenever "someone" needed a scapegoat, they used him...
The daughter said that the son bought her a bike for her birthday ... I'm wondering how close they were, and why were they so close if he sexually abused her? Was the bike a token of his remorse? Were they so close because they were made to keep a secret, and we don't actually know the full story about the abuse? Were they protecting the father?
The son was arrested for a DUI and the mother said this is the first time he has acted out in this way ... why was he drinking so much to be 3x the legal limit? He was alone when this happened, so I don't think it's likely that he was drinking in a social setting ... and he went for a walk afterwards with a baseball bat ... what was he trying to do? The mother was concerned about him doing something with the bat, so who was he going to see with that bat?
I understand family drama, but when a child sexually abuses another child, I don't understand why people think it's a good idea for the abused child to live with their abuser ... she seems very strong and very empathetic, but I keep wondering how they managed to become close if he sexually abused her? Even as kids, I would never have a relationship with a sibling who had done that to me ... I've never been in that situation, but I can't even wrap my head around it ... I understand families need healing but THAT seems like something you keep your abused child away from...
As others have said, there's definitely more to this story, and I am very interested to know what role the father played in this ... I kind of hate catching a glimpse of their life and having so many questions. It was a really good episode though.

as an abuse victim myself I can see the sincerity and hurt in the sister's eyes but, I can see the hurt in the brother's eyes as well. I would venture something happened to him too(which doesn't excuse a damn thing), likely involving the dad, or mom who tf knows but he feels too ashamed to admit it publicly, likely because his mom's(or someone elses) response was to hide it or shame it, something along the lines of "HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT, I KNOW IT!"(the exact thing that happened to me, except it was "my brother would never do something like that hes straight!". Said uncle tied my father up in sheets as a child and beat the snot out of him....AND has a child because he raped a woman but she didn't press it as her husband was abusive and would accuse her of cheating; which came straight from her mouth after I came forward and had grown up a bit. Also groped my step sister, which of course charges were filed for, but not for me). If everyone in the family is walking on eggshells, there's more to the story....just ask mine!
that said, he's still responsible for his actions.
