Yeap that’s when I shot this too. I liked the camera too but there are may more capable cameras as the video suggests. But if I had it it would be nice for the right conditions
I thought crop factore of the M8 is 1.3 ? I have a 28mm on my M8 and I use the 35mm framelines (28 x 1.3 =36.4 mm), M8 is akiller camera if you use it like a film camera (no crazy low like above 2500) like in the old days, personnaly I have a leather case that cover the backscreen, so it force me to use it like a film camera.
I have always stayed away from Leica, so this was a great instructional video. Thanks! I shoot a lot of med, and large format in film, and a Fuji xt3 in digital for small format. This video caught my eye, as I wanted to see if there was anything I might be missing. Honestly, and I mean no offense, I feel like I was getting comparable images from my Fuji X Pro 1, and the xt3. I believe the real draw for me, if the wonderful Leica glass, but even today, that may not hold as strong as in the past. I have mostly been a B&W shooter my whole life, so the color rendition is good to know about, but Leica glass is so tack sharp. I believe it competes with my med format gear. Thanks for sharing this video…
Luvly story man! Yeah I believe Leica glass has the edge there, not only sharpness but color rendering too. Fuji didn’t really work for me I found too many flaws with too much retouch follows, but I could definitely stick with it if I wanted to shoot b/w only. But again Leica monochrome cameras are great for that too ✌🏻😃
Sorry mate wrote the text just as I woke up 😅 my ubconscious brain simply didn’t socially interact with thy question 🙋🏻♂️ hello, and thanks for your kind words!
There have been only 2 Leica M cameras ever made: the film M3 and the digital M8. All the rest were improvisations and "aids" aimed to satisfy customers with little rangefinder experience and skills.
I respect the opinion, but I don’t see nothing wrong with the statement to improve. I would not use the m8 as happily as my m10 so in the end it got me in to the label.
@@streetjam1225 Leica never improved things, considering the M8 is an 18yr old camera the M11 is not 18 times better, not with a CMOS sensor anyway filled with electronics and posing as an M4 or an M6. It's fancy, it's sweet but it's marketing.
@@superkrell No I haven't. Beautiful camera, Leica knows how to draw attention but it is blending features of older models with no real innovation. I wouldn't mind having one but i am a photographer not a collector.
I really enjoyed this thanks
M8 ccd sensor, black and white, just like a film camera superb
M8 is better IMO
Again up to your taste and shooting style 😊
It is.
To be honest, I bought an M8 due to cost - I'm just glad it still holds up in many respects, even in 2023.

With nowadays AI denoising, high iso is no longer a problem for m8 and m9
M8 is better picture colour on my Eizo monitor.

Yeap this was I think little longer than 40 maybe 5mm more

M8 is better
sure thing if you do not have the means for an M10 :)
It is better to compare the M9 because the FF sensors, but the different technologies and similar resolution.
Nice vid and comparison shots..however m10 tends to look more like Sony-ish to me 😅
I think the sensor was developed by the Panasonic, and image getting soft as you raise the iso is a thraight of Panasonics too. M8 was made by Kodak

@@simossosias3727 true story, I don't really dig the 11 I would rather have the 10 R instead.
11 doesn't feel like a leica in my opinion.
You forgot about the MD 262...!

It would be more adequate to compare the M10 with M9.
m10 looks like saturation boosted from normal
