What is that riff you’re playing at 5:38 when you moved to the mic? It’s driving me crazy, but I know I’ve heard it before in Gibson video demos. I would love to find the tabs if they exist. This was fun and can help people understand the differences in case they want to make a purchase. I had Highlights at school in the 80’s too. I think my sister still got them in the 90’s. Anyway, I really don’t think you can go wrong with either guitar. There is more bass on the Epiphone, but some people don’t like that. And like you said, the necks are different. Different strokes for different folks, but neither is a bad option - even if they are laminate tops. Sometimes laminate muffles the sound, but these two guitars clearly resonate quite beautifully.
I am just messing around using power chords. I do a video for those chords. I think it called pier chords E B A or something like that. It’s about 2 months ago. I a grew they both sound great. But remember the epiphone might have a solid top. I am just not sure😀
Oh wow, you just saved me a long trip to look at a second hand Epiphone J200. I thought it would be at least a solid top but you mentioned the older pickup which is the one I was going to look at had. No wonder the seller didn’t mention that it is a laminate top in his description.
I remember "Highlights" from visits to the doctor's office. My parents were too cheap for a subscription. I remember Goofus and Gallant. I knew a lot of Goofuses.
🤣🤣I was trying to remember if my parents actually bought Highlite of if we kept getting sample copies 😀. Yes and Goofus always took the last of the apples as gallant shared 😎
That's not an Epiphone it's an Epicphone. Sounds huge with lots of harmonic overtones and a booming bass even amplified through the pickups it sounded convincingly acoustic. I actually prefer the plain pickguard on the HB. It emphasises the moustache bridge. The headstock on the HB resembles the older Epiphone SG's and LP's .
It has good reviews. I have a seventies lam top Yam, the FG-336SB, plays beautifully. And another seventies, the FG-450SE, plays even better. Both bought for a song. I'm a big fan, for some reason I prefer Yamaha to anything else, including electrics. I have a few, and I've yet to find a fault, unlike with Fender.
Interesting comparison. However, those with slimmer pockets can, for half the price of one, or a third of the other, have a lam spruce top, electro Jumbo by Gear4Music (UK). And you may not be able to hear the difference, at least for one them.
Yes. By Shadow. I was looking for a replacement part for a shadow pickup and the company shows the esonic on the website. Quite interesting and good prices too 😀
Thank you for sharing, but I would never play that Epiphone. You can barely see your face in the video. There are many affordable guitars and you don’t have to be 7 ft tall. Sorry
Harley Benton overall make really good guitars for their price point. I've owned a few of them and was pleasantly surprised by how well they played.
I am quite impressed what $300 can buy!❤️
Amazing video thank u very much!!
Glad you liked it! Thank you❤️
I agree the Epiphone is louder i would prefer it having said that the Harley Benton is not bad thanks for another great interesting video .

Great. It helps if the seller gives an year made and actual model. Sometime you can google and find the specs too. Thanks for listening ❤️
Thank you for sharing with us.and have a bless day.
Thanks for listening in😀
@@guitarnotions I would imagine the stereo out would probably edge the Epiphone ahead, but it wouldn't be an injustice to buy the HB.

Definitely both guitars are good. Personal preference will be needed to make the decision which to buy❤️
What do you have plugged into the back of the guitar?
That is the wireless transmitter for my Bose S1 Amp.
Great video, I do have the Epiphone and I love how awesome it is for the money
Totally agree!😀

epic-phone that’s a good one!! ❤️
@@guitarnotions I do my best🤣
Have you played a Yamaha FG 840? It's a laminate maple😊

Yes Yamaha makes great guitars. I replaced the nut, saddle and pins on my fg840 and sounds great 😃
@@erwinaddison2030 Enjoy it🙂
Hey I am a bit late. But do you know if the Harley Benton has a laminated top?
I can’t remember but looking at the specs of guitars for sale it is a solid top. 😀
@@guitarnotions alright, thank you !!
In your opinion wich one is easier to play? I recently test j200 and i feelt the strings kinda hard, maybe it was the calibre...
I think Gibson can have a tight feel to the action. (Not always). Maybe it just wasn’t setup right

Think I prefer the Epiphone sound..it sounds richer. Saying that, I'd probably buy the harley because it'll be cheaper 🇬🇧🏴
I don’t think one would go wrong with either one 😀
If I recall the E-Sonic pick up system is made in Germany.
Yes. By Shadow. I was looking for a replacement part for a shadow pickup and the company shows the esonic on the website. Quite interesting and good prices too 😀
The sound is great on both. That big lower bout though…. It’s got some…
I agree they are both nice instruments and for the price it’s definitely a Wow!😀
I want the epiphone
I think the best deal is the masterbilt epiphone. Solid wood instrumental an awesome price! 😀
Epiphone sounded much more fuller
I agree😀 and for the price it’s a lot of guitar for sure!
Not much of tone difference. If so it could be adjusted in the e q. And it's affordable. I own 3 HB.
And for that price - great sound! Wow!!!
Another great video. Thank you.

🤣🤣Ok. I promise I am not 7 foot.
I have korea ej200/n
Is that an iPhone? Sounds like you enjoy it. 😀
