Ive Nikon D5300 and planning to upgrade my lens. The problem with the kitlens is only that it hunts for focus even if the focus is locked. Will I be able to use this lens and not having the same problem which I had with Kitlens?
Hi there, nice video man... thanks! I have a little question, I assume if one positions the camera quite close to the subject (which will be me playing guitar) and sets it at 10mm to get the whole guitar in shot... does it give you that cool blurred background effect even with f/4.5? Many thanjs! :)
@@TravisMThompson Thanks for your reply :) Been looking in to it a bit and it seems that for the Nikon D5200 I have there isn't really a wide angle prime lens option... the Tokina 11-20mm f/2.8 is prob my best bet for some of that blured background cinematic effect... Thanks again!
Nice. I have this lens for a while now and I tried to do some star trails with it by connecting it to my Olympus em-10 II via an adapter with an aperture ring. I just could use the manual focus of this lens. I mean...the manual focus ring wasn't doing anything. What did I do wrong? TIA
Hello. Is it compatible with th new Nikon Z30 ??
Possibly with a metabones
do you think it's a good lens for filming boardgame?
Yes top down would be nice and wide.

That is inherent in most Nikon's. Not the greatest focus system for video.
great video man, it's a review like this one that I was looking for to get into vlogging.
It's a great versatile lens and the cost is not astronomical.

Yes but not as nice as a prime lens or a lower aperture.

I have Nikon d5200. Can you please tell me what are the limitations of this lens on d5200 and does it work as 10mm or crop factor should be multiple ?
Minimal crop
I will buy for use with a D780 thanks so much.
Great value!

The aperture changes on this lens as you zoom in and out. That may have caused the blurriness.
@@TravisMThompson Yes it does, but that wasn't the reason.
Hello, I was curious, is his lens a fisheye?
No. It's quite flat vs a true fisheye.
so you use the d5300 to vlog? do you manual focus or auto?
Mostly manual.
