Holy shit, I'm dumb xD Been watching some RF Chieftain vids because I'm considering starting that in the coming league. You mentioned ignite prolif in a few vids and the entire time I was thinking "how are we igniting, though, we don't hit anything" And then it occurred to me... the explosions hit! Should have been obvious lol

just killed brine king, feels like they added more chaos damage early. im in need of chaos res, ele is capped, phys sitting at 77. league seems to be stingy with sockets too.
Not me coming to check this vid after getting things together, thinking I have good damage and health for where I'm at only to find Pohx has 50% more HP and 100% more damage than I do with what appears to be cheaper gear. I swear I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. I'll figure it out eventually I'm sure.
You are not doing anything wrong. This league is my third league and still struggle with damage or other thing due to games weird calculations. Like if you add +60 max life to your ring it might give you 200 (with passive tree). Also they are corrupting their gears which is totally luck based (i hate corrupting system) . I can only give this advice, just enjoy the game, try new things and fail.

I started an Inquisitor RF and found the Ghostwrithe Armor. Im level 30, would you suggest using this or no? So far it works fairly well, but it drains my ES completely so it seems pointless other than boosting the damage some.

So would trying to get as close to 100% ignite chance be useful to maximize the effect of the ascendancy or a complete waste of time and points?
Legacy of Fury is for better map clear by giving burn aoe chance on the other ascendancies, but Chief doesn't need that since it has the explode aoe chance. Chief gets no benefit from the burn aoe on the boots because everything just blows up. Also the boots apply Scorch which is - elemental res, but Chief ascendancy sets nearby monster fire res to -20% so that'd sort of negate the Scorch effect. Basically you wouldn't be using the abilities on the boots because the Chief nodes override it.
@@f.panobianco You're stationary for a fraction of a second every time you shield charge, and if you're having to curse something you're already gonna be throwing Fire Trap at it, which is also stationary.
WHYYYYYYY I've been following your build, currently 91 with 260k rf 550k tooltip flame trap dps. It feels OK. Still feels squishier than Inqui. I get bursted sometimes, despite 4.4k regen
"phys taken as" is extremely important. cloak + taste + helm craft or phys taken as chaos mastery. Im doing rippy af juiced T16 extreme archeology and having no issues
If you (somehow) get over 100% of physical damage taken as other types you will take more than 100% damage from physical, but good luck actually achieving that. For our build, getting more than ~90% isn't really important but otherwise the more the merrier.
Your phys-to-elemental conversion caps at 100% and follows an order; Lightning, Cold, Fire, Chaos. Any conversion over 100% gets dropped and is never applied. So for example - somehow you have 40% convert phys to Lightning, 40% convert phys to Cold, 40% convert phys to Fire, and 40% convert phys to Chaos. What will actually happen is 40% will go to Lightning, 40% will go to Cold, 20% will go to Fire, and nothing will be converted to Chaos. It's not easy to get this much conversion so it's not really going to come into play unless you have a god-tier setup, so most characters won't ever have to worry about it.

It can be decent to use after cruel lab (spec Pious Path) but don't use it before then

even 40% is enough for the explode since it hits such a large area Imo.
You are correct though RF doesn't ignite. It's mainly for Fire Trap & Explode

Scorch does nothing for chieftain and explode prolif is 470% stronger than legacy burn.

I went Legacy of Fury for my boots. The Scorch has been serving me well with packs.
Not bad, can use Eldritch currency and get that on your boots anyway
rf chief has explode so makes legacy of fury pointless and unnecessary though
