    It’s that look that shows on Brody’s face after Tina yells Shark. He realises he knows what he’s got to do & go through that hell again.

      What’s sad is that brodys wife looks up at Brody knowing as soon as he heard those words..he wasn’t going to stop now till it was dead or everyone was safe...She probably knew the whole time that it was a shark..just didn’t want Brody to go back after another one after barely surviving against the first one...

      Personally I hope that her boss got what was coming to him since he egged everyone to firing Martin even after he showed the evidence which they all childishly dismissed cuz they didn’t want to admit they were wrong minus Larry that is.

      Ann Dusenberry is the actress who played Tina and what a powerful and moving performance. I don't know how anyone could ever recover from such a harrowing experience, if that happened in real life. The name of her boat was probably chosen to contrast with what turned out to be "Tina's Terror"

      I was the same. When I was little and watched this film, I thought Tina was a bit of a pushover at the side of the other people in the film and that she more affected by the shark attacks than anyone else. Now when I see it, I’m just astounded by how accurately she played a traumatised girl and how realistic she is! Some of the finest and most convincing acting I’ve seen!

      TheRivrPrncess that...wasn’t what they were saying. They’re saying it’s a common reaction to seeing someone die in front of you. People go through it in traumatic life and death experiences. Of course there’s nothing she could of done to save him. But regardless it’s a common response to traumatic events for the victim of mental trauma and shock to blame themselves for the death of someone they witnessed. It wasn’t Tina’s fault and nothing she could of done would of saved her boyfriend from this tragedy. Regardless it would be understandable if she blamed herself, it’s a tragic response one can have to shock and grief.

    The entire expierence of growing up in the 70's: the adults showing up too late fighting amongst themselves, the rebelious kids are already mauled, and when it comes down to getting it done, cut right through it with in exasperation yelling... "Don't give me that shit. Point!" And ladies and gentlemen the award for greatest symbol of the decade goes to.... the nose of Roy Scheider!!

    I always wonder why it is people at the time never picked up on moments like this when reviewing the film, but those of us who grew up watching it at home never missed them and always remembered them. It's like "Do you not SEE this shit?! How could you miss something this harrowing?!"

  • @MrOuran369
    @MrOuran369 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    The minute Tina screams "Shark!!!", Brody knows he has a witness to a shark attack. I would love to have seen the faces on the idiot woman scientist and the townhall council members and see what they could come up with to dispute her claim.
    The townhall council is more concerned about tourist. Worry about getting sued by Eddie's parents when they find out they neglected to listen to Brody and close the beach.

    • @Theomite
      @Theomite ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I always liked to think there was an intended deleted scene where that dipshit councilman saw Tina freak out at the precinct house and realized that he done fucked up, and then the scene with him and Ellen outside on the street occurred. But they never got to write it or film it. But in my head canon, that's what happened.

    Notice the position of the larger RED CASE as Brody's boat approaches the sail boat (its tucked under). Then Brody boards the boat and when they cut back, suddenly the red case is now positioned in the middle of the boat. Of course at this point we're suppose to believe that Brody can't / doesn't see Tina (really...? that deserves an eye roll) then, OMG, low and behold he sees that someone is under there! And again, magically the red case is once again shoved under so Brody has to move the red case in order to get to Tina. This is the sort of thing even a first year film student wouldn't allow.
