Pinball Sessions presents: Andy Shauf - My Brother Jeremy Full 3 song audio session is available at: / andy-shauf Filmed edited and recorded by Dan Beeson
I was watching this and thinking of my relationship with my brother and, not that it's particularly bad or anything, I just started crying for whatever reason, all these indescribable emotions swelling up in me...music has such a profound effect on us sometimes, it's crazy. What a great song this is!
Such a bitter-sweet song. "Jeremy is the older son, and I'm the other one..." "Jeremy could be number one in anything he tries. You know, he's so smart..."I love Andy not only for his beautiful music but also for his stories which are very sad and very funny at the same time.
I treasure this song regardless of the version although I feel like he nailed it in this case as compared to the b-side recording. Same goes for the live version of Wendell Walker...can anyone really dispute my self-righteous opinion on this particular subject?
Depends, some songs need the full backing a la "I'm not falling asleep" but some are amazingly more intimate like "Sam Jones". I personally love the recorded version too but his guitar only of "Jeremy's wedding" is phenomenal. It adds a little insecurity to the mix that brings out that songs strong emotional ties. So you're opinion is wrong? lol jk jk To each their own :)
