I'm thinking it's kind of more like tunisian crochet at the beginning. Not sure though 😏
Some translation apps use 'knitting' and 'crochet' interchangeably.
Alternatively, in some countries, their native word for "looping yarn" is translated as 'knitting'.
Much like 'knitting a bone' it simply means to bind together.

I was thinking some magic was going to happen with the looong threads, maybe crochet through and interweaving, maybe even macrame, but what a complete waste for such a little keyring. Soooo disappointing. Sorry Sweetie, but show us your usual great work, you are very clever, so what happened here. There were some very interesting techniques used so it wasn't completely lost on me🙏❤. Still love you though🥰

This design was a miss for me. And since it's a keychain, the long strands of yarn will unravel very quickly.
Foolish idea,, cutting off the lengthy yarns,,, they could have been carded and made to look beautiful long flying colors.
