This DVD release stands out from the previous DVD releases since An American Tail and An American Tail 2: Fievel Goes West are presented in widescreen in this release. I find that really cool. Too bad the menus are really simple though, it just gives a simple select the movie you want to watch and that's it. I don't think there's a good excuse. In Amblin's 3 movie collection, one disk contains An American Tail and Balto, and they still put a dedicated menu for them. Still I find this An American Tail: 4 movie Collection really cool. I recently own this DVD release and I've been using it quite a lot to watch the An American Tail films. I love the original An American Tail and An American Tail 2: Fievel Goes West a lot, they're my favorite movies of all time. While I find An American Tail 3 and 4 inferior, I still enjoy them. Especially An American Tail4: The Mystery of the Night Monster, I admittedly watch that film quite a lot since I do like it.
*An American Tail* (1986) = Its no "Secret of Nihm" but its certainly a Don Bluth classic. *Fievel Goes West* (1991) = Talk about a sequel that completely disregards the original...............WHY DOES EVERYONE LOVE THIS SEQUEL?! >:( *The Treasure of Manhattan Island* (1998) = Basically what "Fievel Goes West" should've been. Much closer in spirit to the original. *The Mystery of the Night Monster* (2000) = ............Well that was fucking weird...................but still fun.
+Fire Dust Hi, it's cool to see you again :) Honestly, as much I love the Secret of Nimh, I love An American Tail more. I love both movies a lot, it's just that I honestly enjoy An American Tail more, in my opinion, An American Tail has a better soundtrack, Don Bluth did a better job with pulling emotional strings and investment to make a powerful heartwarming story, I like the characters better, not to mention An American Tail has a very smart social commentary that impacts the story so powerfully, which makes the story very relatable and meaningful experiece among audience, I also find Warren T.Rat(Cat) to be a much more memorable villain than Jenner. Those are the reasons why I prefer An American Tail, but overall, Don Bluth did a spectacular job in both movies, and I do consider An American Tail and the Secret of Nimh to easily be in Don Bluth's best films category.
+Fire Dust Oh yes, I agree. The Secret of Nimh 2 disgraces the original in so many levels. The Land Before Time sequels for the most part are cringingly bad, they have nothing to do with the original in terms of quality and continuity. The songs aren't even that good either. I never understand why the Land Before Time sequels even have its own fanbase and even would dare to compare them to the original Land Before Time, which again, I don't understand. All Dogs Go to Heaven video-to-direct christmas special is laughingly bad as well. An American Tail 3 and 4 at-least understands what the original An American Tail is about. It has really good songs(Which the Land Before Time sequels fail to do), and keep the tone appropiate to describe the discrimination around New York(Which actually continues from An American Tail), and they actually give a pretty enjoyable storylines and thankfully it isn't in a kiddy level like LBT sequels for example. The original An American Tail is still waaay better than An American Tail 3 and 4, but at-least An American Tail 3 and 4 try to keep the spirit of the original and are still pretty enjoyable, while other Don Bluth video-to-direct sequels completely miss the point of the original.
+Fire Dust Honestly, the only 90's Don Bluth films I watch are Thumbelina, Anastasia, and Troll in Central Park. Thumbelina is ok, I don't find it necessarily a bad film, but I don't find it really great either. Anastasia is really amazing, I love it a lot(I consider Anastasia in part of the best Don Bluth films category along with Bluth's 80's films). I find a Troll in Central Park strangely enjoyable. It's definately a drug-trip film that I happen to like somehow lol Yes, there's lot of pointless moments going on, but I do like the parts that are going somwhere. It also helps that Phillip Glasse(Original voice actor of Fievel)and Dom Deluise(Voice actor of Tiger) are both in this movie, and it's cool to see them interact one another in role again(I don't know, it's just me lol). Troll in Central Park is clearly not Don Bluth's best film, nor one of the best. but I find it strangely enjoyable for the most part, and I do enjoy the songs. I have yet to see other 90's Don Bluth films, but I'll plan to get to them. I'm interested in watching Pebble and the Penguin first.
Sadly, no. There is not even a proper menu. But at least, there are English subtitles. Conveniently, there are two photoplays on each disc (ie. An American Tail and An American Tail II on Disc I, and An American Tail III and An American Tail IV on Disc II).
Al Boudreaux I probably doubt it, the first two American Tail movies were really popular but the third and forth were popular but went downhill real quick.
I remember this when I was little

I’ve got them all separately but An American Tail 1986 1991 and 1999 are Australian releases and An American Tail 1998 is a uk release
I love fievel he's adorable

Not to mention "An American Tail" is the only Don Bluth property to get admittingly decent direct to DVD sequels.

Though speaking of Don Bluth, what are your opinions on his POST "All Dogs Go to Heaven"/PRE "Anastasia" films?

I have this DVD set.
I saw your video thumbnails in the related section of my videos
Do they have bonus features?
Sadly, no. There is not even a proper menu. But at least, there are English subtitles. Conveniently, there are two photoplays on each disc (ie. An American Tail and An American Tail II on Disc I, and An American Tail III and An American Tail IV on Disc II).
You got rid of your copy of SpongeBob, You're Fired DVD even though you had the rare slipcover version.
Did I? Haha I don't remember
Do u think they will release An American Tail Blu ray 4 pack?
Al Boudreaux I probably doubt it, the first two American Tail movies were really popular but the third and forth were popular but went downhill real quick.
Doubtful
J's Blu-Rays lol
Media Prolover I rent An American tail 4 movie complete collection DVD set from the library and I care about disc 1 so much
No, since 3 and 4 were only direct to video films, like I said with all the sequels for The Land Before Time, they won’t get blu ray releases.
So is 1/2 widescreen?
idk
Yes
+TheCinciBoy02 Yes it is for the first time on DVD.
3rd film and 4th film are 4:3
