Also Fun fact before colonel John By founded the town ( Bytown ) whom actually had the ear of Queen Victoria... The ultimate reason behind her wanting Ottawa as it Capital is because of its strategic placement . Kinston was too close to the USA borders. Ultimately our parliament is on a cliff overlooking the river that has a fur trade outpost and logging.
