Bro, Sukuna was too powerful to get rid of. Nobody got rid of him. When he died, he became what we call a cursed spirit but he became something greater. His fingers were just sealed and could not be destroyed.

Some are confuse about how he is really overpowered, yes he is overpowered but his power make sense, gojo is born with a six eyes that inherit the limitless technique, which is one of the rarest out of all, and all those student just like gojo inherit something like the 10 shadow, heavenly restrictions, and stuff that's why not every one with a curse energy can be jujutsu sorcerer, gojo spend his whole youth perfecting his technique soo of course he is strong
