I’m not a squatter, but I’d probably become one if I had the opportunity to restore this house. Seeing that beautiful basement in such a state of disrepair is beyond heart breaking
I live a road away from this place. It was owned for years by an Italian family. The father was in real estate. Kids grown and moved out. The parents bought a retirement residence. It was only an Air BnB for a few years. I think it’s slated for demolition to make newer homes like most of the other homes in this area.
I know right?? Had this place been in America, it would've already been vandalized, torn up, mirrors broke, and full of graffiti. 😒😢 I saw one graffiti tag on the fireplace in the basement but that was it. This house is *beautiful* but I love retro style homes.
That awesome house was designed like Domus (a Roman empire era Villa). A middle courtyard with wings built around it. The layout is hard to miss if you're a student (or like me simple fan) of the Roman Empire era.
A lot of expense put into the construction: the hardwood floors, the lavish bathrooms, that solid wood office, etc. Sad that more expense couldn't have been put into the prevention of that extensive water damage/flooding. That layout would have me claustrophobic - narrow halls with all that mirroring... yikes! Great tour and great channel!
Wow, that place has an '80s feel to it, all those mirrors and the courtyard effect around the pool. The completely flooded downstairs is perhaps from broken pipes? When you said, "I didn't bring my boat..." that was the best chuckle of the day for me. The small room at 8:20 could have been for luggage storage for the guests and the large white structure outside could have been for firewood. Thank you for always finding the most unusual and interesting places Brent, Cheers.
In Ontario you need a sump pump to pump out the water from the weeping tiles around the footings, once the power is turned off and pump is disabled the basement fills with water especially in the spring.
What a very strange house of mirrors. A really odd layout like everything is backwards. The grand staircase that leads to a basement??? Odd. Wonder how it came to be so flooded and even below the garage was flooded. Cool video of a very strange place.
That was a cool mansion. It didn't look like it had been abandoned real long because the appliances looked pretty modern. That would make someone a great place to live with just a bit of work.
I did not expect the basement to be actually THAT flooded. I expected like knee-high deep but that’s straight up waist deep or more. I’ve never seen anything like that before! Great video!
One of your most bizarre finds! Aren’t you surprised the mirrors aren’t smashed? It almost looks like a retreat/spa. The big mirrored room looks like a dance studio...boy they loved mirrors and tiled floors! With a place that large and a micro kitchen...very odd. You need to make t-shirts that say “Don’t look in the fridge”...this one was clean but others..yuck! Take care ❤️ 🇨🇦
Water needs to be pumped out ASAP. It will fill the house with MOLD😱. I hope when they demolish it they think about saving kitchen cabinets and appliances and chandeliers, nice doors and laundry appliances even the plantation shutters TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY🙏🙏🙏🙏even kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
thanks for sharing this video about abandoned unsuall retrovilla mansion with the flooded basment it was a very nice place and thanks for sharing it with me and i really enjoyed and God Bless and thanks again.
I kinda like the place. With many cosmetic updates though. And I’d get rid of that huge pool and put a smaller one in, so there would be room for other things in the courtyard. The kitchen would have to be redone...much bigger! I could see this would be great for a large or extended family. And all those mirrors have to go! I really liked the stone wall though.
A unique house. Although, a lot of wasted space. Mirrors were very popular in the late 70s and 80s. Also that speaker system is a relic of the same time period. My parents had that same speaker system in their home. Used to call us kids instead of screaming.
This place is fantastic, well all except the flooded basement. The bathrooms were beautiful with all the nice tile and fixtures. The appliances were really clean.
I agree with the others, a very strange place. The long room at the beginning with the chandelier looks like it could be used as a dining hall, with one huge table. The lack of more bedrooms puzzles me as well, given all the amenities. Giant pool, tennis/basketball court, all going to waste. Brent, great job, as usual! Can't wait for the next explore!
A new great abandoned explore from our favorite explorer! That house is such a great vacation home. You could spend a great holiday with friends and family! Greetings Robbie en Mariska 🙌👌😉
This was an awesome video! Thanks for sharing. I wonder when it was last in use because everything is still in perfect condition, aside from the basement. It could definitely be restored and be a business once again.
Recently watched another explorer go through this place, a few months after you were there, apperently. The basement was clear of water..lots of black mold though!😷 Def an interesting find! XX
Was this place ever lived in? Everything looks so clean and new. Love the bathrooms but all those mirrors would confuse me. Pity about the basement. Another nice find. Stay safe and well.
I was reading another comment from a lady that lives 1 street 9vercthere was a Italian family lived there, kids moved out and it was only a bb for a short time
This house had a fun house maze feel to it, with all the mirrors, and long, narrow hallways. Did the water main break? Love all the brick and stone work! And the rounded arches! Wild house!
This was massive and overwhelming for me! How can this be abandoned when it looks so absolutely new and clean?! Doesn't make any sense then how and why the basement, of which is another complete living space be flooded?! It's the outside property that shows that there's been no upkeep! Such a waste! I liked the little cottage out back, that never had it's renovation done! Lol! Thanks for showing!❤️
What a shame the basement is at least 1-2 ft deep. Shoot, you can always move the pool outside down to the basement. You'd think someone would save this building....so many families are homeless these days...great one, Brent!!
Wow this would of been one weird house to live in . To bad the basement in both the main house and the garage where flooded . Thank you again for sharing this find with us .
I'm amazed that being exposed to the elements. How well preserved the rooms are considering the amount of damage of flooding in the basement. Good Video 😎.
By far the best one yet! I love spanish style homes they are so artistic. The stone work is beautiful. love the layout and the pool in the middle surrounded by the house/rooms.
Wonderful place and can you just imagine how claustrophobic that hallway would be without the mirrors. Its so narrow! As all your homes, this was beautifully presented, beautiful music and you come across as a very caring guy that enjoys what your doin. Love from England UK
Thank you very much! Rather unusual home. Enjoy seeing the many varieties you discover. Would've been nice to see basement better, but happy you stayed safe! Bless you and many thanks!
Back in 2015 when I was in college, my frat had an everlasting orgy there. the pool looked like a big bowl of egg drop soup. I think that is why it was abandoned.
Very strange design, and the mirrors would make me dizzy. But it all looks in perfect condition until you see the downstairs. No telling how long all that water has been there. Another interesting explore!
This place is absolutely awesome! Very different and enormous! The stonework in this place is beautiful and the room with all the wood was rustic and the fireplace was cute if u was a squatter if live there too! Looks good enough to live in right now... Wow I wanted to see that basement in it's full glory!
One of my aunts lived in a house that had that same type of layout with a court yard with a pool in it back in the late 1980s. I loved going to her house in the summer time when I was in my teenage years.

No a family of six live there my father built it with his bare hands so the right before the last recession we're going to build a subdivision there it's scheduled to be demolished

I would love a courtyard home but this massive place is more like a motel than a home.
Yes. Cheap too.
I'm surprised how very clean the main level is considering everything else.
Im sure the details are gross.
Right!
I only watch your show on abandoned houses....It's almost like you're having a conversation with us...It involves us in the exploration...
I live a road away from this place. It was owned for years by an Italian family. The father was in real estate. Kids grown and moved out. The parents bought a retirement residence. It was only an Air BnB for a few years. I think it’s slated for demolition to make newer homes like most of the other homes in this area.
That's just sick.
Yes your right, so many homes are being demolished to make way for newer houses in this area.
That's sad. Such a nice home, trashed for modern boxes.
Thanks: it’s nice to get a person who lives in that area perspective. It seems like such a strange layout, but made sense as an Airbnb.
ha I must have been the only one who though it looked like one of those brothel ranch things like on Louis Theroux
Wow, with the exception of the basement the place is in almost pristine condition.
I know right?? Had this place been in America, it would've already been vandalized, torn up, mirrors broke, and full of graffiti. 😒😢 I saw one graffiti tag on the fireplace in the basement but that was it. This house is *beautiful* but I love retro style homes.

I was just saying the exact same thing. Good to see someone else see it too

This place, gives me the creeps. I also didnt like all the mirrors, but thanks Brent for taking us through!
Strange layout, yet oddly refreshing to see such a unique home. The Mirrored halls made this house all the more interesting... Thank you Brent.
Looks like it was built to be a spa retreat. Mirrors, yoga room, pool...other spa/type rooms.
A lot of expense put into the construction: the hardwood floors, the lavish bathrooms, that solid wood office, etc. Sad that more expense couldn't have been put into the prevention of that extensive water damage/flooding.
That layout would have me claustrophobic - narrow halls with all that mirroring... yikes!

I hate the mirrors.
Looks like a brothel layout .. all the mirrors and the big room with benches & bar area 😳 really has a gross vibe . Great video tho .
that was my exact thoughts!
Very gross vibe

Ikr! Even through a computer screen it gave me the absolute creeps!!!
Wdym scary? Its just water
Black dark water...... definitely a bad idea to dip ones toe in. What's lurking around in that darkness 👎🏽😭
This place is more like a resort then a house. Very big place! Really nice! Awesome video! Thanks so much.

Need a raft to explore that basement, or a good pair of hip waders.
Some of the appliances actually look like they're in great shape
I'm not even there, and I get a creepy vibe from this place. I hate those mirrors.

Not a ballroom, I bet it held a ping-pong table and other table games...it would be perfect for that. Possibly pool table too.
The water in the basement hasn't been there long or the whole house would be full of mold and mildew
The basement is already starting to rot. 🤷♀️.

How ironic the nets are still on the baskets when so often in parks and schoolyards they are either gone or ruined

Why are so many basements flooded in Canadian abandoned houses? Very nice explore and thank you for sharing.
No power so the sump pump doesn’t work to pump out the ground water
In Ontario most homes are not connected to the storms sewers, they reply a a sump pump(s) to pump the water out of the weeping tiles around the footing of the house. Most houses the pump runs for several weeks in the spring.
The floors seemed in amazing shape...
