I have watched this series a few times. I absolutely love it. It just struck me how oddly foretelling it is that Ted would draw 3 death cards in the show's first episode only to have Dermot, himself, pass away immediately after the shows last episode.
I can't handle how cute Ardal looks! I just watched Taskmaster season 13, I'm brazilian, only knew Father Ted hearing it being mentioned, so I'm glad I get the chance to watch!

Poor Ted. He can't catch a break and he's always getting abused by Father Jack and some other characters. He's doomed to spend the rest of his life in exile on Craggy Island with the evil priest, the dumb priest and the dedicated housekeeper.

As he questions Dougal about tha claim that the cliffs are gone, I can't help but remember in a later episode where Ted mentions that the whole west coast just kind of floated off at some point in the past.

Thank you for this! I studied English from Father Ted! Still love this, and forever! After watching all the episodes, I became a fan of Irish culture. When I see people from Ireland, I cannot stop mentioning the words like 'drink,' 'eejit' and 'feck'! Then they say 'why you know these.' I say 'from Father Ted, (especially Father Jack)!'
I believe everyone in their ESL or IELTS prep class gets shown Father Ted for listening class lol! Same boat as your my friend, learnt English watching Father Ted!

I just LOVE this crazy humor
The carnival reminds me of the mini circuses that pop up in my town on the parking lots of abandoned mini-malls, banjo music optional.
This show is what inspired me to become a priest!
It is both Ironic and sad how this premier episode of Father Ted seemingly foreshadows Dermot Morgan's death within hours of the series final taping.
This was my first time watching Father Ted and I am hooked. Crikey!

It's a studio audience.
The entire show was done in front of a live studio audience. There are no laugh tracks. Just audience members enjoying the show being put on for them.
