- Durban (2024) is the third largest city of South Africa after Johannesburg and Cape Town. The city of Durban is also known as Durbs or as eThekwini. It is located in the region of KwaZulu-Natal. Durban has a population of 600,000. Some highlights of Durban are the Downtown, the Golden Mile Beachfront with the promenade, the Blue Lagoon with the mangroves, the uShaka Marine World, the City Hall, the Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World, the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre and the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Sadly the beachfront part had to be filmed at sunrise otherwise it would have been filled with 100,000s of people. People might think it’s a beautiful city but drone footage doesn’t show the filth, the litter, the crime, the murders, the power outages and the corruption.
deepdivers, i think you are mistaken Durban to some of the cities in the US, like Los Angeles, where the homeless have taken over the city and piss and shit on the streets. Or perhaps to Philadelphia where we see fentanyl druggies walking like zombies on the streets looking like the walking dead movies. In Durban children do not get shoot up by their classmates like in the US, or you do not go to concerts and get killed by snipers that like to kill for fun. Wrong city buddie.
Durban is one of many beautiful cities in South Africa 🇿🇦 it is the citizens that create filth and not use designated bins. Corruption is in private as well as public sector also caused by the citizens. Durban is not the only city in the world that has these problems. The citizens have to change their ways 😊

White people will curse and vilify this country while enjoying all its beauty and the comforts it provides them . The truth is that they don't hate the country, they hate it's people. They hate that the indigenous people are the ones that are in charge of it. This they loath. It's an embedded ethnocentric feeling that they should manage everything and if not they vilify it. It's sickening and sad.

I’m in Scotland and would give my right arm to go back if it was safe. The people are generally the best people I’ve ever met. The poverty has taken a huge hold of the country. Breaks my heart. You never truly leave Africa even when you’re thousands of miles away ❤🇿🇦
Also to add, no country is perfect. Scotland has some pretty bad crime rates too. You’re less likely of dying from crime but it’s not that far off these days. The whole world is crazy
