Judge Aileen Cannon, citing complexities with legal rules and classified evidence, set new pre-trial deadlines but has delayed setting a firm trial date, with no proceedings expected before late July. In the case mentioned in the clip we are talking about a judge who is basically working for the defense and purposely delaying the trial with the hopes that if Trump were to win the election, he would just make the case go away. There is no "who is in Cannon's ear", she simply has loyalty to the one who appointed her as inexperienced as she is and is obviously fully behind the maga movement.

Cannon should be recused and removed from this case. She has already been overulled twice by the district court. She has neither the experience or jusdgemnent to handle this case. Smith needs to ask for her removal. No judge should sit in judgement on the person who appointed them. This is just basic, no more, no less.

I think just because one is true doesn't mean the other can't be. She wouldn't be the first person who worked for him to have mental problems because of what she is told to do and what she does. I think she is letting Trump have a lot of power over her. She may not even like what she is doing but she has a way out and she hasn't taken it. All she needs to do is remove herself from this case and make sure she has a great security team. One thing people know about how Trump runs his businesses, campaigns, and the Executive Branch when he was President is that he tends to use people who are incompetent (not all of them are even paid employees) and if they weren't morally compromised before, they become so. When they realize what they are doing is wrong, if they do, it is hard for them to back out. Trump is intimidating and demands loyalty but isn't loyal himself and he tends to quickly lash out at his supporters. It is those people who usually pay for Trump's crimes and sometimes their crimes. Trump never cares. I don't see how she could not know that she isn't behaving like a judge should or that she isn't qualified for this type of case. Professionals even can be overwhelmed and can act unprofessionally. If she ever wants to be seen as a capable, professional judge again, she needs to let someone else be the judge in this case. It is a shame that the system left it up to just any judge that it happened to be to make decisions in this trial. There should be higher standards when it comes to cases this important. It's almost seems like Trump not only instructs the judge, but chose her. Trump wants an incompetent judge or none at all. But Trump says that Biden is orchestrating this whole thing.

I came across this little tidbit today. Why didn't the courts use this system when Cannon was chosen to preside over this case? "Courts also have a system to check if there is any conflict that would make it improper for a judge to preside over a particular case."
This may sound way out there. However, the "Clerk of Court" stated Cannon was the next judge in line for the "next" case. There is truth in that statement on an everyday assignment; however, it's FLORIDA, a RED state. Judges know the Clerks of Court. Imagine, the Clerk loves Trump...Cannon was appointed by Trump and she loves him too. I believe that the CLERK assigned the case to CANNON intentionally.

The 11th Circuit can't do anything by itself. I suspect that it and most of the Judiciary is embarrassed by Cannon. Cannon may have a ethics complaint in the works for failing to declare gifts. It may act there as a pretext because she is clearly not capable of being a Federal judge.

Cannon is demonstrating a level of corruption the DOJ and the judiciary pretend is not possible in our justice system. The DOJ and justice system must deal with things the way they are, not the way they wish they were.
Garland needs to put the cards face up on the table. He needs to make a public statement condemning Judge Cannon’s behavior. Nothing Garland or Smith can do will make Cannon more or less of an adversary to the prosecution. The DOJ has nothing to lose at this point other than its own credibility for not fighting this corruption.

Well, she did take a bribe of some fancy trip she failed to declare. That should disqualify her from judging an espionage case.
At the very least, her inability to set a CIPA section 5 hearing by now, and her indefinite postponement of the case, demonstrate that she is not up to this task and needs to be replaced. But when you layer on her abuse of paperless orders to avoid appeal, and lashing out at the prosecution in those orders, it goes beyond incompetence and into corruption.
