Lovely to hear it start up. And it is a BSA so if it is not leaking oil, it means there is no oil on in it! Enjoyed being part of your journey as I am not far behind you with a 62.
Hello David, thank you for your nice comment. I am disappointed after all the work done. I hope yours goes better than mine. Mine will not start now. I think it is a problem with the electronic ignition and resistance somewhere in the circuit. The joys.
@@hughferrier5837 There ar always peacks and troughs when restoring these old machines. But with each problem solved we add to our experience that makes it easier next time.
@@stockyport Good news David it is running! Checked all wiring to electronic ignition. Wiring was giving some resistance at key switch The main problem was the inlet pushrod had come out! You did hear the clatter from the tappets on the video. So it's oil leaks now. It is leaking less than before the build. It is lovely a complete stranger taking an interest. I live in the north of Scotland. Are you in the USA or Canada from your accent? I hope to maybe take it out next week. If I do I'll film it. Hugh
@@hughferrier5837 Great news that she is running yes, a dislodged pushrod would do that! I am from Stockport near Manchester, but now live in Ontario these last 21 years, now retired. I was in the RAF for many years and served up at Kinloss at one time. A lovely part of Scotland and I enjoyed taking my Canadian wife there a few years ago. I also play pipes in our local band. Not particularly well, but I love playing. Fergus Pipe Band. Fergus is a Scottish town, settled in 1833.
@@stockyport Thanks for that. It didn't sound a Mancunian accent above the noise from the engine. The Kinloss area is nice. We often go over to Forres. I'm most impressed by your career. I was a boring Chemistry teacher. Have a good weekend.
Thanks, Hugh. I'm enjoying catching up on your old videos.
Thank you Peter.
They always leak oil 🪔🪔🪔🪔🪔🪔🪔
