    Stunning video, I did Mera Peak in 2018 and it was a journey of a lifetime, one that I will never forget, the Nepalese people are just so wonderful and the scenery was spectacular, memories for ever. Thanks Erik.

    Great film, thank you. Have had many treks in Nepal and Mera has always been on my list. I love the way you walked in and didn’t fly straight into Lukla. Keep trekking.

    Wow Erick and Sandra what a great video of you expedition. Truly incredible photography, so much we all saw and have forgotten you have captured, well done on your summit attempt under very unfriendly weather. Hope to meet you both again on a trail somewhere.

    Thanks for the video brought back my memories of my trek to Mera Peak in ‘08. Myself and guide Bil porter Nir and a cook for the high camp. ( just forgot his name) those were the times Moaidt rebels blocking the way until a toll paid . Walked all the way from Lukla to Jiri on the return. Wish I was back hiking Nepal beautiful people and country.

    Eric, this is Philip from HK. We met during our Mera Peak expedition. I am the guy who offered the Chinese cough drop to your partner. Great video which help me to relive my Mera Peak trip which I enjoyed every single minute despite the fact that I did not make it to the summit. I also have to turn back at about 6,200m due to exhaustion & white out condition.

      What a trip we had...The Australian group made until Khare. And John made it to the top. He was one hour ahead of us. So lucky ;-). But we enjoyed the people we met, the exceptional weather (coldest season in 30 years) and the mighty views. Perhaps we meet again !!

    Amazing video Erik, many thanks for sharing. I did EBC last Nov and am planning Mera in April 2024. I saw your drone in the comments. What other video equipment dud you use? BW Glenn

      Hi, thanks ;-) We used an iPhone 14 Pro Max and a DJI mini 3 pro. EBC is nice, Mera is great. The journey is completely different. Less people other experience. Good luck with your trip already !!

    Amazing ! Was watching videos to Mera but this trail is pretty interesting based on raking you through different landscapes, vegetation changes and a bit more of wild side of villages of Nepal... Very interesting and informative, thank you for sharing ! ❤

    So some people complain about trekking to the base camp due to its tough weather and altitude effects. these legends climbed top of the peak. Hats off...

    Hi , how to be sure to have a tent at the highest camp if there are many people on this route the same day ?

    • @erikmoust2328
      @erikmoust2328  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Andre, from Khare you start your (guided) hike to Mera Peak High Camp. In Khare the locals now if there is any space in High Camp. Every lodge or expedition firm has there own set of tents. You cannot go up without a climbing guide as it is mandatory in that region. Have an amazing time !!!

    Fantastic video, great job! One question: didn't you do summit? Just 6.200? Any special reason? You look great in the photos that day! Many thanks

    • @erikmoust2328
      @erikmoust2328  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Due to a lot of fresh snow and incomming clouds made us decide to turn around. Also 1 person who went higher said the view was reduced to zero. So thankfully we turned around and got the great views you see in the video. The difference in outlook from 6200 or the top is zero to nothing. Everest region gives you an amazing experience. Far better then Kalapattar ;-)

      Thanks Erik, I have the same.. and rules are similar here in Australia regarding where it can be flown. Though I read in Nepals CAAN articles even the minis under 249grams needed permits in the Khumbu region..around $1500 USD.. I'll be careful as you were as they give amazing imagery. Common sense responsible flying following the common rules..😉🤗

    • @erikmoust2328

      @@46xlvi Exactly. No extensive flying. Just some quickshots to keep the risk to a minimum and have the drone return to it's initial position. Where are you heading?

    • @46xlvi
      @46xlvi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both the ACT/ABC and then Mera Peak followed by EBC 3 passes with Island Peak.. 3 mths in total… bit of and expedition..with recovery period in between Annapurna region and Everest regions🙂

    Hello,
    Thank you for your video. My wife and I plan to climb Mera Peak next october. What was your trekking company? I’m willing to take whatever advice we can get from you. Thanks. Frederic - Nice (France)

      @erikmoust2328  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, depending on your experience :-) Take time to acclimatise, build extra days in your itinerary, the weather can be of big influence on your summit attempt. We used the website mountain forecast which gives a pretty accurate view on the weather forecast. We did the complete trip with our own guide (friend), from previous trekking to Annapurna circuit and Annapurna basecamp. You can send me an e-mail if you want his contact information. He can also arrange a climbing guide and a porter. (email: erik@moust.nl). It will be a great adventure...

    • @erikmoust2328
      @erikmoust2328  ปีที่แล้ว

      Also: do not pay too much money. Because companies will charge you up to 3000 dollar per person. It is possible (without flight costs) to do this for much less.
