Finally someone is mentioning the T-stop value of these lenses, I swear most reviewers have zero to none understanding of what this lens should be compared to and what they should look into the lens. This is the first review which mentions things that on a 0.95 lens review must mention.
I think the lens is mostly ideal for the looks - the f1.2 version is identical in terms of bokeh and performance. This 0.95 doesn't even seem to let in more light than the 1.2..I don't really understand that :/ I think if you just want a cheap Manual lens, the 1.2 is wayyy cheaper and exactly the same. It looks a little funny though, but it's more compact.
Very helpful, especially seeing what can be done in post. Thanks. I have eight lenses for my Fuji bodies and had no plans to add another -- this likely changes my mind.
I bought the 7artisans 25mm 1.8 for $75 on Amazon. I couldn't find a whole lot about it on the internet but it is so good. Small, solid, sharp, close focus distance, beautiful lense flares. By no means perfect but I can easily say it's the best $75 I've spent on photography items.
I was not expecting too much with this lens but it did surprise me and it's a great fun lens. Good to see more companies making options for Fujifilm cameras. It's not going to replace my XF35mn F/1.4 though.

Could the slightly different FOV you mention be caused by Capture One automatically correcting distortion for the Fuji lens, but not for the 7artisans? It may not have data for the latter, and so just leave it as is. Not sure if this is the case, just a thought!
The angle of view on the 7Artisans is claimed to be 43° while the XF35mm f/1.4 is 44.2° making the 095 tighter in view and they do render things differently in camera, I’m not sure how much of an impact the profile has on projection but might have a point there.
Thanks very much. I think Fun it the right work for this lens alright, we all need a bit more of that lately. Discount applies for the entire store, if you find yourself getting anything else there. Happy shooting.
I have the Mitakon Mk2 for my Fujifilm. The focus breathing is definitely better control with it, very minimal indeed. Plus the light transmission is better than the 7 artisans too. In terms of sharpness, it is about the same. But at half the price, not bad at all.
@@161Baker The diameter of the aperture in relation to the focal length, F=35mm so 35/0.95 is 36.84mm. That's the diameter of the aperture when fully open, the amount of light getting through the lens is a different thing, the light transmittance could be much lower with this lens that it is with, say, the Fuji XF35mm F/1.4.
@HogbergPhotography In all the reviews I have seen there is nothing to suggest that bokeh is a problem or anything other than what you'd expect at f/0.95. Light transmission is another matter but it's only a tad darker than FAR more expensive lenses, well so what? If you want that extra few percent of light then feel free to pay a LOT more for an insignificant improvement. Personally I'd take the vast saving and up the ISO, which nobody would notice anyway.

Solid review. Out of all the reviews I've watched, this made me finalize my decision. Thanks!

Well deserved like 👍🏻

Great review, with some of the best photos i've seen in a lens review! Amazing work!
Best review I've seen on this lens.
Thanks very much :)
Very good review. Smooth and simple. Thank You sir.
You are welcome Robert and thank you
Awesome video! Love your channel!!
Nice review, thanks alot
Great review. Would like to see an editing video on these.
Yes, be good to do a video about that for sure

@@kimfarrelly good to know the angle of view is different too! Could be a bit of both for sure.
Nice review KF!!! Maybe one day they’ll do a WR version. I hope....
Would make life easier for sure, it's been raining here for about a month, not heavy but that nice get in everywhere misty rain. Trust you are good?
@@kimfarrelly Hey there! Thanks, actually I am doing really well. Have a great week! Spring is coming soon!
enjoyed this video, great job!
Thanks Randall
Great review! Shame I only just found it and missed out on the discount code! I'm using it on an X-T200 and having lots of fun with it.

Excellent and very objective, thank you!
PS. There's also TTartisan 35mm f1.4 which AFAIK is worth checking. Seems much better "bang for buck".
Surely you get the 7Artisans f/0.95 because it is a f/0.95.
incredible review
Pitch perfect review!
Thanks Mike, that means a lot.

What photo editing software do you use?
That’s Capture One Pro being used in the video.
Whats software that use this photo? Its not look like lightroom
It's this one: bit.ly/C1-KF they have a 30 day trial and free versions available from Fuji & Sony. It's the best I've ever used.
is is compatable with xt200?
Yes, you can buy it in X-mount, so will work just fine on an X-T200.
09.5?😕😆
I was confused by ZERO NINE POINT FIVE thumbnail
Hopefully less confused by the end
Nobody shoots a landscape at full aperture.
ZERO NINE POINT FIVE
Your not the first to comment about that and probably not the last either. 😁
@@kimfarrelly 🤣 thanks for the reply man. Im getting my 35mm f0.95 soon. Great video!!
Great it’s a fun lens to shoot with and great for video if you want that mostly out of focus look. Enjoy and thanks for the comments
Haha, this is NOT a 0.95 lens, just as the 1.2 lens is more like a 1.8. The bokeh does not match up with that big aperture.
Still, it's a fun lens to use and surprisingly solid in build - for the price.

I have just bought the lens and it performs as I expected. Pleased with the results.
All i know is this lens performs extremely well in the dark.
