When my uncle was about 60 he spent two summers getting logs in his forest, splitting them drying over the winter and then finally making forewood. Hydralic log splitter off of a PTO shaft and then a big electrical cicular saw cutting it to lenght. 1000 square feet shed, filled to the top of the ceiling, 7.5 feet high. There was nearly a quarter of it left when he died a few years back.

But what we especially love about you two is how you love fur babies and take such great care to feed them nutritionally healthy food !

Love how you both work so well together and prepare such delicious looking foods!

A little hint from fellow firewood foragers...if you run your chainsaw (about the teeth depth, you want to get through the bark and into the meat a bit) along the length of your birch, aspen, cottonwood (and the like) before you cut it in pieces, the wood will dry out a lot faster.

I kind of jokingly but not really tried yo convince my husband to move to Alaska 🤣 its not a possibility because we live in B.C., Mexico and dont even have visas lol but me finding and falling in love with your channel coincided with us diciding on what kind of land/house we wanted/could afford to buy... Long story short we ended up deciding on a out of town but big rustic plot of land mainly becuase of the price but also because i would love to have a big garden, a high tunnel, chicken coop, and hopefully a root cellar 😅🤣 i have always wanted fresh milk and nata so i would add a cow 🐄 lifestyle is #goals! Good thing my husband has also always wanted to live in a ranch so its similar. He focuses more on a ranch style house and tools lol but anyway thank you for your inspiring content and for giving us a vision of what we would like! My Wife's family heated with birch for years. One thing you need to remember is that birch and other members of the popular wood family decompose relatively rapidly if the wood in in contact with soil. If you left birch wood on the ground at your other propery I would recommend moving it to your cabin an put it on pallets for drying.

I liked the winter videos but I'm glad spring is back. You're at home more and we get to see more of the cat. (Which I think is named Pepsi based on a 2 year old vid posted but Idk lol)
I just love how close your animals hang around you while you do work. Little furry managers making sure you're doing work right.

OoO those broody chickens. Once a mum, always a mum. Cool that you can use bees wax to fix your trees! Gosh, guys... We love learning from you two! And that opening sequence!!!! BOOOM! You two are really nailing the b-roll and tunes. Just sayin'. Big love from Ontario CAD. Just moved into our bus. Life is good. - E + B

You can put two or three birds to a cage at a time. Especially the bigger dog cage.

I've got the same water tank. Yep 325 gallons. From tractor supply. I love it!! I use mine to haul water in from town. Takes roughly 40 minutes to fill it up, in town. Takes about 5 minutes to empty it, here at home. LOL I like that I can take mine in and out of the truck by myself. I put in special bolt downs for the two yellow straps I use to keep it centered in the bed of the truck. I got those straps at tractor supply, as well.

Also, I can keep the canopy on the truck, and still use the tank. Goes in and out just fine.I put two 3/4" bulkhead fittings in the lid. Then hung a couple of pieces of garden hose from those. I put caps/plugs on the ends of those hoses. I can connect to one hose, to fill it in tow, Take the cap/plug off the other, for a vent. Keep the caps/plugs on, otherwise, to keep debris and insects out of the tank.
