Let him on parole just tag him and tell him to report to police station once a week. Government should give partial income so he doesn't reoffend. First sign of trouble back inside. He has not murdered anyone or raped anyone, If we believe in rehabilitation then we give it a go with him being 70.

It's a difficult one. You earn the time for committing a crime - particularly when victims are violently abused. You do not earn release whenever you're ready and "peace loving". Victims don't get their time back. That said, it seems senseless to keep a reformed criminal locked up. The psychiatrist does not seem to think he is ready. More assessments needed, clearly. Unfortunately, public opinion is basically everything.
