after signing up for Krav Maga classes I've realized the violence of that martial art, so and when I realized the mistake I had made, I changed classes, at the same center, for tai chi lessons and Yoga classes ( both were cheaper) and personally I felt more satisfied and balanced, because in the country I live (which is always in the top 10 of the safest countries) I don't necessarily have to learn to break someone's arm or crush someone's windpipe... You have to react super quick and be very accurate. She has the knowledge to disarm but doesnt mean she has the execution to do it in real life scenario. Always try to avoid a situation no matter how trained. Plus 4 months training is still training but need more practice in pressure intense scenarios. So hey I’m from Israel and I’m training in Krav Maga and I can surely tell you it’s self defence not killing someone and it’s full of competitions and tests so it’s like karate but for your safety and yes high level belts do learn about dodging bullets and knives and it’s for all ages also it’s not that intense if you train almost daily

The guy turned out to be a suicide bomber, and the officer, instead of running, pinned his hands so the guy couldn't push his detonation button. And then proceed to kill him by bitting his neck to break the artery or the windpipe or something. So yeah, for motivated and experienced people, fighting technique can work. At the same time, I saw another guy who was something like a Krav Maga instructor (also army officer) who stopped a knife attack in a store. And the reporter asked him if he wasn't afraid he could get stabbed. His answer was that it's not about not getting stabbed/cut - because in a knife fight you WILL get stabbed/cut. It's only about not getting hurt too bad, and hurting the other guy much more.
Some people say it's actually better to disarm a random person with a gun than a knife. You can hope that they are an idiot or haven't loaded it properly, whereas anyone can use a knife, if they want to stab you then they will.
As a veteran of the Israeli army, I’m gonna let you in on a little secret: Krav Maga’s not that effective lol. It’s effective in VERY specific situations, or if you have something like a jammed or empty rifle on you, but fights on the street rarely go down in a predictable manner, so I wouldn’t rely on it 😀.
