He is when he speaks German. I have seen him on German TV. Super smart and charming but totally normal.
kcjazzy Does he have an accent in English though? I'm curious because all the German people I know that are of his age (who have like most us Europeans learned English since kindergarden) don't really have an accent. We speak fluently.
I don't know. I have only seen him speak English as Flula the character. But his vocabulary is very advanced so I am pretty sure he can speak English without such a pronouned accent;)
kcjazzy That doesn't mean anything. You can speak English perfectly well with an accent. The accent is about when you start to learn English. If you learn English as a child and teen you learn it without your regular accent. If you learn English later in life, no matter how much you master the language, you can't really master the accent.
I've met him, and out of character he just speaks like an average German man. Flula as a character is just very exaggerated and enthusiastic version of himself! And his English is really good.
"You have hair growing on your neck......" - Chelsea "scientifically" interested...
"Yeah, I'm a male." - Flula as confused as usual. ;-)

brwood33 it's a character for interviews, she tries to make it awkward and uncomfortable by offending the guests, which is pretty different to how USA interviews normally are.

In my experience, none-germans are more senitive to subjects like these. It's a joke and she's playing a character. I'm not triggered by that.

Still got one misconception about Oktoberfest. It is NOT a national holiday in germany, but more a local fair in Munich Bavaria (and no, not all of Germany is Bavaria, like not all of America is Texas), which is meanwhile mostly done, to milk foreign tourists, especially Japanese and Americans.
