If they bump you, then they are trying to figure out if your food or not. If you move once one does so, then they usually turn and come back to attack. If you don't move then they leave you alone. Oddly enough, their the only shark smart enough to do that.
Obviously feeding them. You can see the fish heads... Illegal? Dunno. Laws vary, and it's certainly common place in much of the Carribean. I've never gone on a baited shark dive, and likely never will. I've been up-close and personal with a Black Tip Shark in Cancun without bait. Much more fun. :D
