I used the bus when i drove a big red lorry. I had another red bus north of Salisbury on the a36 also very good. I drove lorries for fifty years , retired two years ago at seventy, Sad there's not many good caff,s left.
I'm Rhodesian but had the good fortune of living in East London and North West London for three years. Essex to me was always an extension of the East End in respect to their accent, manner and openness. Lovely people and the scoff was always magic. Fry up, roast, pie & mash, fish and chips in Southend on the water front and a nice pint or five. Good people.
Always on my list to visit when I return to EC. John Bosworth & I call it the Gay Bus (goes back many years). Had a sausage sandwich there last week, marvelous.
Thanks for making this video, you've made me hungry. The cafe looks like a little treasure. I wish there were more places like this around the country.

Does the bus still go ?
I’m pretty sure it’s stationary these days. Lovely place though.
A heart attack served on a plate; that's how I want to go.
