They are, ignore me lol
Buttermelons give you a minus to happiness when eaten raw, berries don´t and there are tons of berries on your map, berries and hept are by far the two better options when starting on insane as you actually don´t need a cook.
Yea, I agree. However, the cooking is important to avoid meltdowns early. Meltdowns are a nightmare IMO
@@TheOnlyL0nzY Yes, meltdowns can be fatal on insane if you get a sad wander during an attack. Insane difficulty has to be micro-managed to the max. But I agree with Spark on this one, don't bother cooking in the first year on insane, you can't spare the manpower. Also heptagonia doesn't need refrigeration.
So would someone like Emelin not be as useful in the start on insane? I'm on Medium, and my first try I didn't have her, and by the time summer rolled around I'd had a few meltdowns. Second try and I've had very little issues with mood and it was just such a relief getting that bonus on things like porridge.

Hostile bugs can arrive as early as day two and usually try to utilize traps and a pathing system. I had anywhere from 26 to 32

Got this game on PS5 and have only ever played on insane. After a few failed attempts Im going strong halfway through year 3. If you want a cool seed try "Show me your wood"

It's pretty awesome seeing you attempt insane on Sorbius. I've never been able to do insane on Sorbius because I always wipe in the first winter so GOOD LUCK!
When I play insane dificulty I go ultra-minimalist, like no cooking at all and no planting any crop that needs cooking, like buttermelons. They can survive on heptagonia and barrell cactus alone (or beefberries). Also on Desertum there are seeds (at least 2) that have unguarded nests so you can harvest carbon before you even have weapons, and if you start with Kana you can make carbon armor right away. I still haven't done the "Iron survivor" achievement (complete a game with insane and chaos moon) because it's almost impossible to get the last survivor off planet because of chaos moon's unusual mobs. There must be a trick to it that I haven't discovered yet.
Oh you scare me now 😅 I'm going to try my best to survive though!

i did insane with solo survior. i got to 21, but here is the thing i only had 7-8 mobs attacking me every 3 days till day 10. cause around day 9 i set traps thinking that will help me with these mobs. oh god no, it made it worse.. cause from 7-8 mobs it jumped me up to 30+ mobs and another issues was food and it is hard to keep food good when u are being attacked every 2-3 days then ur person gets mentalbreak downs. now on why i got to day 21 and died on day 21 was due to a mentalbreak down. my guy desided to have a "Sad Wander" break down that makes u unable to draft ur survior at all while he is having his crying fit. so once u are being under attack and also having ur person to set to attack anything attacking him it just will not work and that will cause ur person to be attacked without doing anything back to the attacker so my person flees into the house then bk out to be attacked again.. and once he gets knocked down and lays there for abit he will get bk up and get knocked down again then get bk up and do something super stupid.. like relighting the camp fire while he is getting attacked just to be knocked down again and killed.
Lol, it's brutal tbh. Haven't tried it with 1 survivor

If you use 1s, they choose that over sleeping and eating. Try to avoid it where possible

Another early railgun sniper scavenge? You're either super luck or I'm super unlucky. My last hard game Ken scavenged for a year and I only got one pistol.

@@TheOnlyL0nzY yes, going for the insane chaos achievement, but people keep claiming they have flamethrowers on day 3 in every playthrough, well you got 12 hours just to research the furnace to make the metal rods, then a day to research the flamethrowers, and thats if you were lucky enough to find fuel in the first 3 days. They are either cheating, using "game rules" or restarting till they get lucky scavenges, either of those methods is bs.
I found a way around it though, instead of listening to them and keeping on trying making myself angry, I just rushed spears and got everyone a spear, that got me through day 3 then I was able to get bows and work up.
Now I only have normal failures where I just need to adjust strategy, like running out of stuff because its hard to grow anything on chaos.
