Another great video, Laura. Thank you. Have to tell you. Had a disaster these last 2 weeks..........really cold weather has been coming down from the North (Nordics, Scotland etc) and has brought snow to the U.K., so my son tells me, but we live much further south in Spain, and the weather has still sent really strong howling and freezing winds our way. I would much rather have received snow, as at least it protects the plants from further cold and wind! Lol! I had laid out lots of protecting sheets but to no effect, so this morning we have dug up all the wind damaged plants and staged them in a large sheltered porch, wrapped around the pots with blankets in strategic positions. I’m hoping the roots survive, but I’ve done things like cut wet leaves off to try to stop root rot as the leaves are just mush. This kind of weather minus 0.2 degrees is UNHEARD OF here in December so thanks, world climate change! Brilliant start to my new year! I wanted a much better 2021 but not with a heartbreaking start for all my plants like this. This time last year we celebrated New Year with a pool party wearing swimsuits and a barbecue! Aaaargh! The crazy life of a gardener, huh?
We love you, too. Happy Thanksgiving!!! Thankfully, we live in Texas and we are free to make our own decision on whether to be with family or not based on health and wisdom. We will have Thanksgiving dinner together and I'm thankful for this!!! I'm also thankful that we are all open for business and our infection numbers may be high but actual sickness and death is very low, even in the older population. Praying for California to become a free state again along with all the other states promoting fear instead of wisdom.
This garden is just so special. I could spend hours just soaking in each vignette! Thanks for showing Greg applying the top coat. Im looking forward to trying it next Spring! Being in Minnesota I have a lot of time to dream and plan. Ive always loved rocks and have hauled them home from all over the world...you have given me so many ideas to marry up my two favorites...rocks and succulents!

The bed in front of the air conditioner unit looks like an island floating in water! Love the addition of multiple colors with the furniture. The garden really does flow with the rock design! All of your finished garden designs are outstanding but this garden rises above them all! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Me too! Our winters get too damn cold here! The summers get hot as hell but there's ways around that (morning sun and afternoon shade)! But I have a succulent collection in pots that I move indoors in the winter.
This took my breath away! Can you please post more about the barrel planter on IG? Is it full of soil or is it sectioned off with pots inside? Maybe sometime so a DIY on how to make one if it was homemade. Thank you for sharing your experience, love and creativity with us💚

No liner or sealant. Should have. Thanks for the suggestion. On the upside, it will be watered very infrequently and by hand. Yes. It has plenty of drainage.

This client has to be over the moon with her new garden! Y’all did such an amazing job. The bird bath with the glass in it is amazing...it’s not water inside of it, right? What is it that is making it look so shiny on top? I still just really love the bright green pot that Terry and company (forgot his name...sorry) planted out. The plants in that pot are just stunning and the design is just gorgeous. I also love around the waterfall. Just gorgeous. Y’all done good!!! 🙌🏼

From a distance the blue glass in the waterfall reminds me of a family of birds taking a bath. Also that taller aloe in the corner by the ac unit was S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G.

Isn’t the “striata” aloe actually aloe plicatilis aka fan aloe? I ask because I’m growing fan aloe seeds. Love watching all the videos of all the mature succulents!
Laura, how large can the gravel be, before the wet look 2000 can no longer hold things together in a crust? I have 3/8 inch gravel in a succulent bed that gets blown out of the bed when I use the leaf blower to chase out leaves. Would the wet look keep gravel of that size together so it does not get blown around?

That barrel was made by the clients father many years ago. It is plastic and filled with soil.

My favorite part is the blue glass in the water feature. The glass reminds me of gem stones, although I’ve never seen gems that color.
