  • The Yecla Gorge is located in the province of Burgos, in the autonomous community of Castile-León in Spain. It is part of the Yecla and Sabinares del Arlanza Natural Area, a protected area that is home to a great diversity of flora and fauna.
The gorge is known for its natural beauty and stunning scenery. The surrounding limestone crags create a spectacular setting, with high cliffs and narrow passages offering breathtaking views. In addition to griffon vultures, the gorge is home to other birds of prey and various species of flora and fauna.
The walk through the Desfiladero de La Yecla is relatively short, at approximately 2 km in length, but offers a unique experience for visitors. As you walk along the walkways and bridges that span the gorge, you can enjoy the waterfalls and impressive rock formations.
It is important to note that the gorge can have variable conditions depending on the time of year and weather conditions. During the winter, there may be ice on the trail, which requires extra caution and proper equipment to walk safely. In other seasons, the gorge is more accessible and no special equipment is required.
The Desfiladero de La Yecla can be reached from several main roads. Santo Domingo de Silos, a beautiful village nearby, is a common starting point for visitors. From there, you can take the BU-911 road to Caleruega, where the gorge is located. It is also possible to get there from Lerma via the BU-900 road or from Hacinas following the BU-903 from the N-234.
In short, the Desfiladero de La Yecla is an impressive natural enclave in the province of Burgos, Spain. With its narrow, deep gorge, it offers visitors a unique experience and spectacular views. Whether in winter or at other times of the year, the gorge is an outstanding destination for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

Looks somewhat like Caminito del Rey en miniature. More green, more private, more peaceful.

It is a very small place, in fact I don't think it is even a kilometre long, but the truth is that it is very curious and beautiful. It is worth a visit if you are in the area.
