Ashema Bahumat Actually only girls are playable. The main character is technically like the Pokémon trainer and the girls are the pokemon. That said, plot wise there are other relevant male characters that were omitted from the anime and no they aren’t useless. Plot wise the main character is not a fighter so he’s fairly weak. His main power is to buff the girls though he occasionally tanks. His DPS canonically sucks, it has nothing to do with his memory loss he’s just not a DPS class.
This anime has way too much glorification, while it's polished well, the base of the buildings and some of the choice in animation is questionable, the enderman who was high has no blur to show acceleration, the buildings are wonky, hesitations, just not a good base. Also, that move the princess made felt like it was konosuba watching megumin make an explosion with all the sparkles.
that is because the anime focus on the gag side of Princess Connect Re:dive which usually mostly the side story contents. The more serious aspect of the storyline is in the Mobile game, has the same name, which is also a sequel to Princess Connect game. The anime takes place during the 1 month that was skipped in the beginning of Season 1 Main Storyline.
