I love your cavalier attitude to just getting it done. Not trying to be a perfect “insta” ready product. The rawness makes it real and refreshing. I can certainly relate to your struggles. Keep up the good work. And if your pesky defender keeps getting in the way your garage door. I’ll happily take it off your hands lol.
What do you mean raw… this is my best work!!!🤣 yea for shop furniture it’s more about function for me, it doesn’t have to be too pretty. Haha, the defender isn’t going anywhere! I love it!
I had a few laughs as you worked in this video. Thank you for that! ♥ Laughed out loud when you had to climb over the whole works and then back again... scared the dog... and hubby.... but it was good to laugh. Life... it just keeps going whether you're ready for it or not.
Glad you like them. Haven’t seen Cen-Tec before, just had a look, u mean the cyclone type things? I tried them in the past and kept getting the bucket imploding on me.
What I find amazing, is that I share the same small workshop challenges with you. However, every time I tidy up, I double the space... I'm really enjoying this build, and I'm probably about a weekend away from pulling the pin on ordering some 18mm plywood. With regards to treating the MDF, I've used Danish oil, with satisfactory results. I think there's plenty of alternatives though (Dennis from Hooked on Wood, and The Swedish Maker use Rubi... something 😂). I'll have a check 😉
@sawdust934 that wasn't an implied tasking there 😂. I'm exactly the same as you. I paint, saw, clamp, glue and type myself into corners... keep doing what you're doing 👌🏼
For your next project rip a a few pieces of cheap, light wood to insert inside of those aluminum clamps. It'll stop the clamps from twisting while you tighten without adding much weight.
New to the channel but greatly enjoying it. Regarding the top, have you thought about oil based poly? Used this on my MDF topped bench & has held up brilliantly. Sanded & recoated after just shy of 5 years of regular use & almost as good as new. Bonus is the resistance to moisture, glue & paint other than from spray cans.
Hadn’t thought about it to be honest. Will have a look into it. Yea the moisture and glue resistance is my main focus - I will inevitably end up using it as an assembly table as well. Thanks for the tip
You do not need a router lift if you use a triton router, it has the ability to raise the router from above the table. I realise tool choice is a very personal thing, I myself look for the tool to do the job but is value for money, like yourself choosing an evolution saw, but paid a serious amount of money for the festool. Just for your information I paid £120 for my 2300 Watt triton router
Yea I know what you mean. I bought the lift and motor a while back, have just been waiting to install it. The festool was a bit of an impulse purchase but I paid up for their brand as there are a few bits within their ecosystem that I have my eye on. Thanks for the tip though… it just may be a bit too late for me…😳
nice build, just wondering does this limit you from bringing the fence out wider than it is here? can't quite tell but looks like you';ve set an upper limit on the width of cuts available?
Thanks, No, because the grove in the top of the table goes all the way through, the fence rail sits in there and the fence can expand out to its full capacity which is about 610mm (enough to rip a 8x4 sheet in half.)
Nice. Liking your vids. It makes me shed a tear every time a TH-camr pre-empts a wanky comment from armchair warriors. Maybe have a little chime every time you do that and then note it as a ‘thinking man’ score in the description 😀
haha I love how it perfectly shoots the sawdust out the back and into ones face!
Yea, not ideal, I will buy the dust extractor soon. Still recovering from buying the tool! (They ain’t cheap!)

Glad you enjoyed it and got a laugh out of it!
its coming together so nicely already :D
Thanks!
Looking good mate!
Thanks!
Excellent series, this is just what I need in my garage workshop.
Thank you!🙏
I'm baccccccccccccccccck!!! 🙂 😁💪
Ha, You said you would be! 🤣 was waiting!
Hey love the videos mates, I used the Cen-Tec Systems for my dust collection in my workshop.
Glad you like them. Haven’t seen Cen-Tec before, just had a look, u mean the cyclone type things? I tried them in the past and kept getting the bucket imploding on me.
I’m in a shed, I wish I had the space you have 🙈🤣
Just get a £100 shop vac for now and an adaptor that fits the saw. Coming along nicely 👌🏽

Oh is it Rubio? Yea I desperately need to tidy up, it’s getting a bit silly. Have a few weeks off so hopefully can make a dent in it!
Rubio Monocoat 😊

Use shellac on it
That is probably the front runner,

Haha, good point! I love that!
Haha i have clamped myself into a corner before.
It’s an exclusive club!
That wouldn’t even fit in my workshop 😂
I have also realised it’s all just about how well you can hide your mistakes 🤣🤣
