- Rajaji National park at Uttarakhand - North India has 3 entry points, I have done Jungle safari from the Chilla range. It is considered to be among the best for wild animal visibility.

Jungle safari at Rajaji National park covers a distance of 36 kms in 3 hours. Rajaji National park is converted into Rajaji Tiger reserve in the year 2015.
Few important things to know before you travel to Rajaji National park at Haridwar:
Distance from Dehradun Airport: 35 kms.
Nearest Railhead: Haridwar
Entry timings: Morning 6 to 9 am & Afternoon 3 to 4.30 pm.
Period closed in year: 15th June to 15th November.
Jungle safari cost: Rs 1950 for one person- for every additional
person in jeep, entry charge Rs 150.
Elephant ride: Available at cost of Rs 1500, distance 1 km, outside the chilla range.
Wild life at this place is spread over 820 sq. kms
Other Tourist attractions near RajaJi National park, Haridwar:
Haridwar: People travel for pilgrimage.
Rishikesh: Adventure sports, Yoga and temples.
Mussoorie: 80 kms from Rajaji National park.
Tips to consider before you plan a trip here;
Prefer afternoon Jungle safari than morning one, chances of wild animal visibility is greater.
Carry enough water during Jungle safari to drink, you may not get that in between.
Have food otherwise you will not get anything inside the Forest.
Best time to travel to Rajaji national park at Haridwar is between 15th November and March, rest of the time it is hot, you may not enjoy.
I was told by a my Gypsy driver that there are 16 Tigers at this place and some 250 Elephants and many more uncounted other wild animals.
This particular video that you are seeing has been shot in 1st week April.

मैं पहली बार किस राष्ट्रीय उद्यान में गया और बहुत रोमांचित था कि मुझे सामने से शेर हाथी जंगली जानवर देखने को मिलेंगे लेकिन थोड़ा अंदर जाते ही मेरा सारा उत्साह खत्म हो गया क्योंकि वहां हिरण लंगूर और मोर के सिवा कुछ ना मिला यह सब तो मेरे सारनाथ के चिड़ियाघर में भी है ! मेरा समय और 3500 रुपए बर्बाद हो गए ! साथियों आप लोग इस पार्क में जाने की गलती ना करें यहां कुछ भी नहीं है

Is there elephant ride also available at Raja ji tiger reserve?
yes - you can also do that at cost of Rs 1200 - 4 people can ride on elephant- distance is about 1 km, but that's not inside the jungle. But you know kids will enjoy this more than jeep safari at Rajaji

What should be the approx budget to visit the park ?
Rs 1950 for safari of one person and Rs 150 per person entry. This is for jeep safari. Rajaji national tiger reserve is closed for 5 months, so before you plan check on dates - i mentioned that in description section.

We visited Jim Corbett to spot the tiger...but after covering whole jungle found nothing...perhaps no animal was interested

We r plan to go with family at rajaji national park . Is 4 members r allowed in 1 gypsie car. How can I book a gypsie car ?Is outside car r allowed in between park if I book one from haridwar ?

I went to Rajaji with lot of expectations, trip did not go that well in terms of animal visibility.
I think corbette is closed till 15th November, surely want to go there
visa2explore You should try visiting Bandhavgarh National Park in MP if you're interested in wildlife. Corbett is too huge and the probably of sighting a species like tiger is too low. The tiger density at Bandhavgarh is very high. There are direct trains from Delhi to Satna, the nearest railway station.

You didn't see any wild animal but still the forest was enjoyable. And the jeep driver looked well behaved.

Around March-2018, We visited Satmaliya Deer park near Khanvel, Silvassa.
The Jeep driver was arrogant. And he didn't even bother to answer any questions we asked him.
It looked like he was tired and bored of doing his govt job repetitively.
At the entry fees payment counter, they didn't issue any ticket or receipt of the money taken.
That was a bad experience as i read your comment... So much of such journey depends upon the driver.... i completely agree....

rs 2200 incl entry charge 3 hours.. rs 150 per person extra entry charge... i think i am able to recall this right.. its now been close to 2 years i went there
