A quick unboxing of the new release of Atlantis '57 Chevy Nomad. #model #automobile #modelbuild #collector #modelcarcollector #builds #atlantis #revell
You did fine on your review. Thank you for posting this unboxing. I built the Hot Rod version of this kit back in the late 80s and will be looking to pick up a handful of these and the '55 to this series that will be coming out next month.
Thanks for the review. I have one of the older issues but this will for sure be way more affordable. Pro Street version is what I am planning. Chop the top? maybe!
I build the Revell, kit many years ago, one faul I found in the turnable front axles, they were made from plastic, so I used small Brad nails which worked ,very well
Originally built by Sam Hollingsworth. Original car lost to time, reportedly repainted and living in Canada. Rodders Journal did a nice feature on the clone a few years ago. The article has a lot of history about the original and lots of detail pictures of the recreation.
Great to see this version of the Nomad reappear. I have an unopened version of the same kit from 1969, showing the same car parked on the beach. I may purchase this one to build, and hold on to the un opened 1969 kit.
The original box art is a photo of the real car at the beach...Richard Graves built this mild custom in the late sixties... I built this kit when it came out, and while some assemblies were a bit "tricky", it went together well...The hood opened, as did the doors, and the tailgate...The front wheels connected by a tie rod could be positioned...I am planning to build this kit as close to the original box photo as possible...The decals are a pretty close match to the original paint job, so I'll definitely be using them...I already have the chrome reverse rims and white wall tires...
May 1968 issue of rod & custom has the car on the cover. That’s also the original issue year of this kit. Kinda crazy to think about all these vintage kits getting reissued in 2024/25. We’ve seen round 2 being back so many colder kits like the 60f100 and the 71 demon. It’s great seeing Atlantis being able to bring back a lot of the older revell kits as well as the figure kits they had
Great kit reveal! You may find that the bumpers are not the correct width and will be a challenge along with the opening hood ,tailgate and doors, but it should be a rewarding build when finished! Good luck and great video!
Super cool old kit. I love what Atlantis is doing with these old kits
