TWICE is the true definition of KPOP. the true essence of KPOP. They are the Best Selling Kpop Girl Group of all time and The Most Awarded Girl Group of all time
As someone new to kpop in the last couple years, i think the reason for large groups is because dance is such a big aspect of kpop, and 9 members means you can do some really intricate and visual choreo. It also makes the group versatile since you can split up the members into sub-units and do creative things with that.
Twice is the best and sings various styles of music such as bossa nova, pop, rock and other styles and honestly, no comparisons, Twice is on another level.
Thanks for giving TWICE's music a chance, they have been in the industry for 8 years now and just hot of their heels from finishing their 2023 World Tour in Korea, Australia, Japan, Canada and North America (with sold out pre-sale tickets in SO-FI and Metlife), and ended the 2nd part of the tour in Europe and SEA. For discography, it's best to listen to it in release order so you can see there growth thru the years. The Korean releases first, then you can listen to their Japanese tracks next. Then their B-sides to complete the journey. 😂 Twice is Korea's National Girl Group hence the fun part/sound of K-Pop is their's~~
For large Kpop groups I find its best just to pick one person to focus on at first. For me it was Nayeon, the girl with the bunny smile, that jumped out at me and instantly caught my attention. Now, It's crazy that I can pick them all out just by their silhouettes and recognize each girl's voice distinctly.
this' in 'between1&2' which more like 'tribute' to Y2K era (rock, hip-hop collide in korea), all the songs are good, a solid EP. the MV is sub-story from 'scientist' ('formula of love: O+T =
They are more poppy, they're the group that really represents the fun pop sounds. You can find a lot of other groups that do this, and the other styles like Blackpink or Red Velvet too. Kpop is more of an industry than a genre. There are a lot of groups like this, there are several reasons for larger groups, though the strategy is debatable. Kpop relies on a lot of personal connection with their "idols". More members increases the odds a fan will connect with them. Kpop groups are always performing too, when they release a title track/album, they perform and sort of compete on tons of music shows for weeks. Since there's almost always hard choreography, it's much easier to perform when you split the singing load up. The same goes for concerts, you can split up sub units to perform and give others a break.
Twice is a happy pill, and all their title tracks are bops with extremely catchy choruses. They started out all "cute" but they've trended more mature in the last few releases. They don't do the bad bitch concept like black pink, they're more poppy.
Thanks for the reaction. Yes, Twice, Blackpink and Red Velvet have different group concepts which reflect in their songs. Black Pink - girl crush concept Twice - Bright concept - so their songs are more cute, uplifting, high energy and fun. A lot of people like listening to their songs because it brings your mood up and is just fun. Red Velvet - has 2 sides actually. Red is their more high energy, "Pop" concept . And Velvet, which is their darker concept. I believe you have reacted to one of the "Velvet" songs.
Twice is my favorite girl group, they just bring my mood up haha. Yeah, they are very poppy, but thats why i love them :) theres other genres they have done tho, for example, i cant stop me is amazing, totally recommend
I got into kpop because of blackpink and then discovered twice haha. I ultimately started liking twice way more and now they are my favorite girl group.
