I like the shampoo bars and conditioner bars a lot. Reusable metal water bottles, reusable coffee mugs, soap nuts for my laundry (cheapest zero waste alternative i could find), buying in bulk, bamboo toothbrush, dental tabs instead of toothpaste, deodorant in a compostable or recyclable package, a reusable baking sheet :)
I'm Soo glad someone does a zero waste lifestyle. And thank you for the tip about the b 12 vitamin I'm thinking of going vegan and needed to know about how to get B12 into my diet and you are the best example in my opinion.
Great information and yes, we ALL need to work on this. Imagine if each of us just tried one zero-waste thing at a time. Bless you! Peace & Happy New Year. ✌🏼
Exactly! The dog doesn't know he's doing anything wrong. He's just excited to see someone he loves. Putting her foot against his throat sent me over the edge!
Sorry, that was wrong of me. I didn’t mean to hurt him or put my foot on his throat - I was just trying to keep him out of my van because I’m allergic to dogs and his fur gets everywhere in the small space. But I see how this could come across and I should have been more conscious of how I was preventing him to come in + be aware of how the footage may come across without context. Thank you for pointing this out though and I’ll be more aware next time! 😊
@@sarahyak_ It's all good it just made me want to snuggle the dog, I think I'm allergic to all animal fur but I have dogs and a cat and won't get ride of them I'd rather deal with it then to get ride or never have pets ❤️

It's nice to hear someone talking about zero waste principles and vanlife. As I make my transition to full-time van living I am trying to transition even more and more to zero waste. One thing that will likely be more challenging is still having my compost bin for food scraps. Not sure it will be easy to find places where I can give my composting scraps. Do you try to compost your food waste?
But are the laundry detergent strips biodegradable? I live in a farmhouse with a septic tank and we cant put chemicals down the drain so we usually go to Mrs. Meyers
I use a menstraul cup and reusable pads. not enough people talk about reusable pads! they last for years and are way more comfortable than regular pads ! if my flow is light, I don't even use the cup anymore, just the pads. highly recommend.
You are absolutely incredible!! I use almost all of those items and my husband, our daughter and myself always pick up trash anywhere we go, it’s so upsetting seeing how careless people can be in public places.
Thank you as well beautiful! I’m just so honored that THEE Sarah Yak responded to my comment!! Your a huge hit in our house!! Have a very happy New Years hun and stay safe and healthy! Sending love!!
I also didn’t use the huggers, but there is a larger, thinner version for covering bowls. I love those. They are made in a way that they’re very flexible and seem to fit every bowl size. I often mix a bowl of something and then can’t finish it. Also makes Tupperware type stuff less necessary, so double function. I love the idea of the laundry strips, but I hate when brands charge more* and make a donation with each purchase. 1. Some people are really counting pennies and can’t afford this and 2. I prefer to choose who I donate to and when. *If a company found a way to be cost efficient and still make a donation, that is different. I’m always doing price comparison, though, and haven’t yet found a best-price option that makes a donation.

I'm not using any tampons, pads or cups. I take Birth Pills (I don't know what you call it in english), where some people don't get their periods, or just get it every 3 months. If I stop taking them, I do get my period back :) It helps me from the period cramps, every time :)

Damn, I just ordered some of that detergent, I could’ve used your code! I’m also transitioning to low-waste living right now and it’s really rewarding. 😊 Maybe a bit off topic but... I was thinking of getting a worm bin for my bus but I’m struggling with whether or not it’s ethically vegan. It seems more symbiotic than exploitative because the worms would be able to engage in their natural behaviors (that is what should happen to our waste after all) and I don’t gain anything personally. I think I’d still feel like I was holding the wormies captive. In the end, composting is probably a plus for insect and small mammal life even if it is exploitative, and this is the only way I could compost in a small space. Do you have any thoughts about it?
hmm I honestly have not looked much into worm bins and don't really have an opinion on whether or not its vegan/ethical. My first impression is that it may be a gray area? Just like beeswax reusable saranwrap - I know honey/beeswax products are not technically vegan but I feel like that also may be a gray area if you only purchase the product once and it helps reduce so much plastic use that could be going into the environment and harming animals + our earth. I'm not sure! I've never bought a beeswax wrap or done a worm bin so I haven't really thought much more about it. That's just my first impression. I think it's so awesome you're thinking so deeply about it though :) that's awesome! Thank you.
