Do I ever need to use the pronoun ‘Yo’ in conversational Spanish if I want to say, for example, puedo hacer algo, or tengo una amiga? Gracias.

After an extensive investigation, I can't find any source of Spanish grammar that agrees with the claim that "Suelo" does NOT trigger the subjunctive in the dependent clause in the types of examples you show. Can you point me to something authoritative that supports this claim?

Prefiero escuchar español solo hasta que mi nivel sea más alto. No me gusta la traducción continua al inglés. No es necesario. Realmente no lo es.

Then why are you here leaving a comment? Why not go listen and then come back when you're a higher level?

I leave comments in Spanish because I wish to practice my Spanish, and doing this I slowly improve. This is the only reason I do it, really. My comment above is poorly expressed at the start though. It should have read: 'solo en espanol' (only in Spanish) and not 'alone in Spanish' as I have written. (Also there is an 'l' missing from 'continual'). All in all, this one is probably not one of my better comments on this site.
I firmly believe that one progresses far faster when one leaves one's mother tongue behind. This was the point I was trying to make here. This leaving behind of English can, and should, be done at a very early stage when learning a new language.
Feel free to have a look at some of my other comments on Pro Spanish classes; I comment ubiquitously. These are virtually all in Spanish, whilst everyone else comments on this site in English (!).
