Keep the videos coming Kevin. I love product reviews. How about one on heat tape, for us electronically challenged. I'm a visual learner, and there really aren't any video's out there about it. It would be awesome to see how you set it up for a rack system as well.

Nice! I've used many Reptile Basics products for about 6 years. I've been very happy with them. Everything I have assembled has always fit well with very tight tolerance. Also the products have a very good pricing.
dude as a recent reptile enthusiast and fellow metal head, really been enjoying your videos and absolutely awe inspired by your presentation of these amazing animals.
Thank you for the little informations like the clutch thing and how put on the glass door. Usually this type of videos doesn't tell you about all that stuff
I checked out the cages. I really like them. Looks easy to keep clean and love the closed sides and back. I have had it with taking a screen off the top of my current one. I am almost ready to commit (if they ship to Canada).... But I might hold out for PURPLE 💜. Greatest appreciation ❤
Thank you for walking us through this enclosure review! Could you do a BlackBoxCages enclosure review someday? I’m curious if they are easy to build and am interested in hearing your feedback about the quality of the enclosure!
Thank you for the cool video Kevin!! It's cool to have Andy on board. He seems like a pretty cool dude!! Hope everyone is doing well. Stay safe and have a nice day!!🤘🤘
Great enclosure, but you have to seal the side panels, back, and dam at the bottom or it will leak when spraying/misting. I use Lexal instead of silicone.
Agreeeeed. The bottom 1” or so is water tight though. This plastic is not the same as the pvc we try to silicon and fail. This looks like silicone and it’s sticking very well. Quite solid!
First and foremost- finally a great design 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 ***Question 1*** When are they going to come out with a 6 or 8 foot cage option? ***Question 2*** Can you persuade them to have an alternate option for a solid PVC top- rather than screen?
Both great questions but as I understand this is a new cage so It will take some time. Since they come from China it’s giant containers full of the ones in most demand. These are not made in house at reptile basics.
I put together a VERY similar tank a few months ago, I put he top on backwards also. there are a few minor things aboutthe design of that tank I like more than I do the one I have.
Only issue I see is the screen lid for snakes. Most snakes that would use an enclosure that size usually need higher humidity (Balls, smaller Boas). For beardies or large colubrids that aren't humidity sensitive (Bullsnakes, larger Corns and kings) it seems like it would work great. Though keeping it warm enough for beardies with the screen lid could be an issue.
Yeah, I've also learned the hard way about silicone not sticking to PVC, then I dump water into the substrate...oops! Dap 230 works phenomenally and hasn't caused any issues with my animals.
Great review. I found the muscle racks from Manards works better than the spacers personally. Most racks I found are a touch too small but the muscle racks fit perfectly.
@@NewEnglandReptile I have the ones from dubia. They are very similar. The problem I found with most of the racks is that the dimensions are measured from the outside. These were measured from the inside.
I was actually JUST shopping for a bigger cage for my growing BP, and was looking at the competitor's version. Given that this one has the water-tight seal, more streamlined assembly, AND I saved just about $30 bucks, it was a no-brainer! The only part that's a mild bummer is that they are sold out of the purple version of the cage!
That's a good looking enclosure! I know they also offer it in purple. I'm hoping they add a green one. I've got an enclosure from Dubia the same size but I still need to get 2 more so will try Reptile Basics and see which I prefer. Thanks Kevin!
Are you thinking of phailozoo for the purple enclosure? I have a phailozoo in green, quite happy with it. I searched the reptile basics website for purple and no results
One of the quiet ones here but watching this video has me wanting to ask a question. What would Kev recommended as housing for an Egyptian Uromastyx? Im talking the enclosure, substraight, live or fake plants, water, lighting etc? I've veen thinking about it for a while and would really love an experts input.
The top of our Ball Python enclosure for my best buddy in the whole wide world, Sans, is like that. To keep the humidity in, we just cut some cardboard out of a box we had laying around and it's perfect. Fully bioactive... Minus the plants. There is plant. The one slow he has, in all his magnanimous kindness allowed to live... for now... mostly... when I plant it back into the substrate... again... for the 10th time... ...today.
Yea these are from the same factory in china as like 4 other companies, they might be “updated” but still from china and same manufacture facility. Just a different badge on it.
It's very nice..... But for someone who builds my own out of PVC there gonna be expensive... But if you only need 1 or maybe 2 or are just plain rich ... They're very nice ... Because like Kevin said it's hard to seal custom PVC cages
Im looking for info on AWM temperatures . Can i let my guy roam around outside his enclosure and how long befor his temperature drops ..is that ok to do??
Depends on a ton of factors. He’s definitely ok to walk around outside his enclosure if your house has a decent ambient temperature but I would leave him out all day
@NewEnglandReptile thanks for the response. Definitely not all day just let him explore bit his the temperature of the house. Definitely isn't warm like the enclosure.
I would have to replace twelve enclosures so going with something like that would be an expensive change. My snakes deserve bigger than they have but it doesn't seem practical for me.
Pumping those videos out! Did you receive my letter yet? My comments about Snarfles were my subtle ways of asking if you received it. Cool enclosure, my latest enclosure is a clear shoe box, I love how affordable bugs are. I'm good with my one snake, otherwise it's bugs. I'm starting to fall in love with isopods now. Okay, enough blabbing from me, enjoy your weekend.
Love this, also love reptile basics but heads up on the 10 percent coupon they advised me that it expired as of 6/1!(And the code wouldn't work for me)

U killed that cage with a quickness. If u weren’t showing us u would have done it faster. @SSgt_Steve. U couldn’t have said it any better. OohRah. I’m a E4 that’s paralyzed. Kevin; was the cage u built there biggest? If I was a betting man I’d say $189.99 for the cage?
Everywhere I look, everyone keeps getting the Wish version of PVC enclosures. Granted they may cost cheaper, but they are also built cheaper. The pvc isn’t strong enough, thick enough, or durable. I’ve heard of leaks, I’ve heard of chips and cracks from many keepers using these “Made in China” enclosures. I’ve seen quality test that show these badly manufactured enclosures fail under pressure. I’d rather have a customized reptile enclosure that is built to withstand years to come than a poor attempt at building a foldable, breakable, cheaply manufactured wanna be cardboard box.
