This video was more than just a build. This was about 2 business partners, roommates and best friend accomplishing dreams and goals together! Great job guys!
This is a great video. I muted it until you started it for the first time. I would have enjoyed it more if your commentary was included but that is not a big problem. I am now a subscriber.
Very nice rebuild video. I remember rebuilding & restoring a trashed 1955 MG TF 1500. I felt the pain, the great relief when all the parts worked, and the fun of working with friends who just wanted to know how things worked. And I noticed an accessory that was helpful later in the day - a beer bottle! Congrats to you both!
I subscribed when i came across one of the first 911 build videos. So glad i hung on because this build was awesome! You guys are a laugh and i like watching your videos. I agree with someone below, you deserve more subscribers! The music is sick too! Cant with to see more of the Porsche in the future. Enjoying the Datsun build too. Keep up the good work!
It’s been an awesome series guys. Loved every minute of it. Stumbled across the channel when I was rebuilding my turbo diesel just as you were starting and made sure to subscribe straight away. Looking forward to seeing more from you!
How to sum up this video. "we are not splitting the case!" "we are definitely not splitting the case." "the case doesn't need splitting." oh look, we split the case 😂😂😂 love the build guys.
I rebuilt afew 912 air cooled and they were just am upgraded VW. Super easy and real quick Today cant believe what they sell for just nice sole fun cars and to think they're worth what 3 of these are. owned enough that I would of had a $1000000 for just the ones I had in the late 70s at todays prices. if I only knew. Had a few 911s and 911 AC all air cooled love their sound and handle. Porsche should of stayed air cooled lot less bs nice job champs. Nothing beats knowing.and doing your own mechanics. My best friend was trained in Germany at Porsche and Mercedes factories where he worked. spoke lousy english but could work on anything. Got my Cal contractors license in 80and he was a big help til I helped him get his license. He jumped the wall when he was 17 and made it to Cal by 23. born in Check republic and became one of my best friends. Couldn't surf worth a shit but loved the life. Drank to much but loved to work and was a fair bro Best.partnwr I ever had then he married and she fucked his life all up I'm born in Belgium that made us 2 peas in a pod but I got here in 58 so I spoke French and a little German learned from m and he made my gean real good. We both ended up in Florida 20Years ago and hooked up 10 years ago again. He's got a new old lady whos got him wipped. We old now and still mess around. This man could.do this job blindfolded but he just part times construction We fix simple trucks and cars and boats bit I sure miss the old Porsches Beamers and Mercedes We love dirt bikes but who wants.to get killed Just keep it going fellas cuz it's fun.
Getting after it! Like the Can Do, Will Do attitude. Did my first engine drop for transmission repair and partial reseal. I timed cams for first time too. Won’t split case as low mileage for now... Nice work 👍
Great vid. The sound of that engine is fantastic. I took the stock exhaust off my Boxster S & put a stainless sports system on it. But it doesn’t sound as good as yours. 🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
After watching your wonderful video, I have 2 questions: (1)The red paint in 5:58, what is it for? (2)7:35 What is the yellow round clock measuring? and why does the number change several times?
I'm an amateur, but many years ago I helped a buddy build a couple of 911 engines. At 5:58, I'm pretty sure it's sealant, not paint. I believe it's sealing the cam tower to the tops of the cylinders. At 7:35, it's not a clock, it's a dial indicator gauge measuring the cam, although I'm not sure exactly what he's measuring at that point. It may be the cam timing. He zeros it at one spot on the cam, and then as he turns the cam, the gauge is showing the change by the cam lobe offsets. Those gauges can also measure irregularities and warpage in brake rotors, showing the difference between the high spot and the low spot as you rotate the rotor.
Regarding the dial indicator, there's a better explanation in th-cam.com/video/_lgupROO2Tg/w-d-xo.html at 14:00. Apparently I was on the right track, they are adjusting cam timing.
First head studs are removed with pipe wrench and case not split. Then we see a shot of the case being cracked and the head studs are still installed. ???
Nice video. What year chassis did you start with? I'm guessing it's an SC because the SC flares on the fenders (more flared than the '74-'77 models were).
All of this work had to be more than 10 minutes! A lot of this work is time consuming! But great video on how it's done on rebuilding this type of engine
The Master's of God steel to car, if you technic selections engine's edicuations. When a Porche factory oppozit grager's das moment's you good deal man...
I am not a mechanic per se but noticed that when you were disconnecting pistons from the rods, the rods all landed on the block below! isn't this something that is usually good to handle with either small wood blocks or a string attaching the rods to the studs to prevent it from happening..
This video was more than just a build. This was about 2 business partners, roommates and best friend accomplishing dreams and goals together! Great job guys!
ggggggggggggggggazoo Aren't they brothers?
I thought they were a couple!??
This is a great video. I muted it until you started it for the first time. I would have enjoyed it more if your commentary was included but that is not a big problem. I am now a subscriber.

A pipe wrench on the head studs??
I actually started to like the burgundy fender...
Sick bro
So impressed with you both for tackling this, nice work! Just out of curiosity how much did it cost in total parts, machining, tools etc?
Fire.
Parabéns, muito bonito seu trabalho!! Falo aqui do Brasil, quero um dia ter um 911 biturbo ano 95, quem sabe né?? Sonhar não é proibido!! Abraços
