Fun fact, Chef requires two muppeteers to work, Jim Henson voiced the Chef and ran the head, Frank Oz was the Chef’s hands… Two person muppets usually had the two muppeteers trying to deliberately upstage each other for laughs. You’re seeing two best friends trying to crack each other up :)
We must thank Lew Grade for the foresight to bring Jim Henson over to the UK to make The Muppet Show. No American network was interested in The Muppet Show. Unforgettable and unmissable show back in the 70s/80s on a late Saturday afternoon back in the day. In the early days it took some convincing American celebs to fly over to the UK to guest on the show.
I didn't know it was possible to laugh any harder at the Swedish Chef until I turned on the auto-generated closed captioning. If you have a weak heart or are in bad health, I wouldn't suggest it because I almost died from laughing so hard.
