I can choose whether or not I put my child on the internet. I'm sure 99% of you are sweethearts, but there are some sick people out there - I've spoken to other TH-camrs who receive death threats targeted at their children. People feel no one in the public eye has any right to privacy because they chose to put themselves out there. I will put up a video, as I have said many times, when I get the time to craft a video I'm proud of and excited to share. This is no one's decision but my own.
Thank you love - I am excited to put up a video I've been thinking over in my head for months now and I am looking forward to showing off my little one, as any new mama is :) After that, I want to provide her with some privacy because she can't vocalize whether or not she wants to be on the internet. That's Chris and my decision and that's what's right for us :)
You're so genuine. You've got nothing but my complete respect. Keep it up!
I really respect your decision to keep Julia and your family private! I would be the same way. Everyone raises their children differently so I respect your honesty and understanding! Love your videos & god bless your growing family!
with you, mommytard, britt null, rachel talbott and soon anna saccone and itsjudys life its so amazing how many new little lives there are!
i love hearing labor and delivery stories! I'm a nursing student and today was my first day in OB/GYN rotation and I got to assist in a delivery. best experience of my life so far!
I've seen SO many labour videos, and they always made me so nervous! this makes me much more less scared. thank you!
you have no say in what i want to do. besides, i'm waiting til i'm 30. at least i actually have my life planned out.
I'm with cate. Sometimes you just need to know weather you're 14 or 20. It's preparing for your future
I def. agree! No one needs to see those private moments but Dr and the parent.
Agree
" No one needs to see that but the Dr!" +1,000,000
How dare people judge her for not showing her baby. That is her choice and her child, not yours. We also prefer not to show our children on FB or any other social media site. You have NO idea who is watching or viewing your child's photos/videos/etc. I commend her for doing this because she is right, the little baby has no say in the matter and if she wants to protect her child from the public eye, then again, it's her right to do so.
For all you complainers, it looks liken there will be a baby video up sometime today according to her FB page.
Im so happy for you and I totally understand your decision on keeping Julia more private
Congratulations! You will be a great mom!! And I completely respect yours and Chris's desicion to keep private life, private. Good luck!
thank you for posting this im 37 week pregnant right now and im playing the waiting game for my little one this is helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing your labour story in details, im due to give birth in 5weeks, im so nervous and completely wasnt sure what to expect from labour. Your video has really helped me understand labour better. Congratz to you n hubby on your new arrival.
I gave birth to my son on the 14th of September 2013 aswell!! At 7:22am :) congratulations!
YAY!! So glad you had such a positive experience-- loved this recap, I was nodding my head through everything, especially just having gone through it! And you look AHMAZING!
I knew ittttt! That's why I've always called my menstrual cramps as "Minor birthing pains"
why would someone give this a thumbs down this is great
thats really comforting rachel.
thank you so much for sharing this. I know that we are thinking of having a baby and I am terrified of labour.. I appreciated your honesty so much!!!
So happy for you and Chris honey! I have had 2 babies (both very large babies around 10 lbs each) and I can relate to your post-birth description completely! I could not sit down to go to the bathroom for about a week afterwards and had to use a sitz bath every day. That helped tremendously, along with a spray bottle of diluted witch hazel (hospital nurse gave that to me).
Congratulations!!! So happy for you and your family! You have explain everything so well, but can you talk maybe a bit more about the "after" ? Like how you managed the pain from the stitching, if you can move and be able to walk and look after your baby and things like that? Thankyou!
I'm so happy for you guys :) my aunt just had a baby boy and my other aunt is having one any day!
I'm a teenager, and I have kept up with all your videos on both channels and I just love watching you! You seem so down to earth and passionate about making these amazing videos for us! thank you! even though I'm not going to have kids for a long while, I love watching these, haha. Congratulations, and I hope you enjoy your new life with your new baby girl:)
my birtday is September 14th!! i turned 16 on September 14th 2013 & was also pregnant!
A catheter that delivers the epidural medication is put in with a needle but when the needle is removed the catheter stays in place until after delivery.
totaly understand .LOTS of love to little Julia ^.^
This video is so sweet! I started tearing up.
wow that sounds intense! congratulations and well done for getting through it all!!
Congrats again Rachel!
I’m a labor and delivery nurse and I swear the quickest way to slow down contractions is to call the doc and say that baby is right there and ready to be delivered. Haha
Can't wait to see baby Julia! Congrats! Thanks for the video, I will be due Nov 8 and can't wait to meet my baby. You look great and hopefully you recover quickly.
Congrats Rachh! Congratulations!!!
Wow I have the same birthday and am actually using your videos to start making lists and ideas for baby. Thank you for providing such great info!
Aww congrats on your baby girl!
Rachel, no need to apologize for not making a video! You JUST gave birth! How amazing and it sounded like you had a wonderful delivery! Can't wait to see the video with baby Julia! I am sure she is beautiful!! I just started vlogging myself to try to conceive my first baby. Kinda nervous since I am 37 years old! Would love for you to check it out! Congrats again and enjoy your new and precious addition!
Congrats, I am so happy for you.
Good idea on keeping Julia private out of videos. I totally agree with that! I wouldn't have wanted my mom to put me on youtube without my consent.
Congratulations to you both!
sometimes the dokter cuts a little to make more room for the baby to come out. most of the time this is done during a contraction so you don't really feel it.
Did you cry when you saw her for the first time? I feel like I would ball my eyes out of tear of joy! Lol
Congratulations!!!!
Congratulations to you and your family ♥♥♡♥♡ I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BECAUSE YOUR NICE AND SWEET
"I miss her when I'm showering" awwwww!
Can you show or talk about Julia a few times a year. So we can know how Julia is doing. And congrats!!!
thank you for this video! I've always been so nervous for giving birth, and this definitely helped!
Just listening to your story and just my though of having my own child makes me so nervous and scared but seeing you so happy really makes the nervousness go away! I can't wait to have a babay of my own, and yes I understand now the pain is definitely worth the experience! Thank you for sharing your story love!!
LOVE the name Julia. My best friend's name is Julia and she actually left for Samoa for the Peace Corps today! She is such an inspiration to me and a beautiful person!
Congratulations Rachel! So happy for you :)
Your smile and your eyes radiates loooooove and happiness!!! xx
She's a Virgo like me
I know this was along time ago but it showed up on my home page and it's great ❤❤
AHH girl I missed ur videos for a year and then this happens!!!!
I'm having a baby in December, and I really appreciate this video!
did everything go well?? :)
Yes, it was the perfect labor and delivery!!!
I am happy to hear that!
YAYAYAAY!!! Hopefully the first comment :) I'm so excited! I love youuu
congrats on baby julia i bet she is beautifull like her mom
Anyone here after her 5th birthday 2018
I hear that the vaginal area can rip? are those the stich's u were talking about? that is what scares me the most about getting pregnant is that the skin down there may rip through the process of birth? scary!
i don't think there's any ripping, the drs have to make a little incision down there to help the baby come out easier. They stich you up again after delivery.
It can tear if baby's head comes out too quickly. Sometimes they do an episiotomy (which is when they cut the skin down there) if baby's head is having trouble coming out, or if it looks like there might be issues (lots of doctors have different views on when/if episiotomies are necessary).
Madi Kroeker oh wow. didn't know it could actually rip. It does sound scary, but if you're in the hospital and under a good dr's care, I'm sure things will be ok and no ripping will (hopefully!) happen :)
That happened to my mom for her first birthing (the tearing) But she didn't have a very good doctor. He should have cut her instead so it would have been less damage/ and easily stitched up.
yes, it can. when my mom gave birth she pushed too hard, and she ripped.
Congrats!!
Wow u pushed for such a long time! Much respect!
i sooo loved ur detials of labor ..
what really made it special is that ur baby's birth date is same as mine (14th Sept)
Congrats!
congratulations rach!! what was the shortlist of names you had before you picked julia? does she have a middle name? congrats again! xx
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing this with us! Wishing you all the best xx
I love her name! Congrats

Wow, Rach, you are were so incredibly helpful by vlogging about your entire experience. You made me excited about when I eventually become pregnant lol You look great btw ,I'm sure you'll get figure back in no time. :D Congratulations
Congratulations :) !!! I am so happy for you ! Thanks for sharing your story with us xX
Congrats you guys!!! :D and well done Rachel! :D
Julia was born 2 days after my birthday!
Awww this makes me so excited to have a baby someday. I've been married for 2 years almost now and we dont want children too soon but it definitely makes me so happy to hear all these stories. I'm glad everything went so well with your entire pregnancy and delivery. Much love and positive vibes to you and your family
Congrats Rachel :).
Thank you sooo much for this video! I am 38 weeks due on the 19th and for about a week I have been getting what I'm guessing is braxton hicks. But starting a couple of days ago they have been coming more frequently. I'm not dilated at all or effaced. But my question is did your contractions stay low in your belly?
Congrats!!!! Did you experience baby blues at all?
Congratulations!
Did the epidural affect julia at all? Did she start breastfeeding ok or did the epidural make her groggy? Im about 4 weeks from my due date and I do want the epidural im just scared that she wont breastfeed right away if i get one
I am dying to see Julia
Beautiful story :)
Oh wow, your experience is about the second best story I've heard, my sister Shelly had her second kid at a specialty place on her first visit XD They did her check up and told her that she was ready, and then after a couple hours, he was out! I think she did the pool of water-thing? Not quite sure (I wasn't there) but she said it was MUCH better than when she had her first at a normal hospital.
So happy for you Rachel! I bet she's adorable :) Thank you for sharing! How long does it take for the epidural to work?
So glad to hear everything went well. It's a wild ride.
Im 9weeks preg and been watching vids on youtubes and 7 diff apps on my phone. Last night i was crying freaking out scared about birth even throu i habe many more weeks to face. Well i want to say thank you cause this really help me calm down only i watched it last night i would of got some sleep lol
Congrats
my mom let me watch her giving birth to my baby brother Im 13 and today my brother is a month old but it only took her 10 minutes to push
Congratulation
I hope it will be that easy for me when I have a baby in the future :)
the afterbirth would really be some interesting information!
It's funny because at first we all think that we can totally handle the pain, we're like this is a piece of cake...then the real pain comes!lol!
I was born on Septemeber 14th too
You're beautiful and so is baby Julia :) Congrats to your whole family! If you enjoy watching family vlogs, I'd love you to check out our channel! From another Canadian mommy :)
Ok. She didn't do that video with Julia. Did you guys' hearts stop beating? Brains stop working? It's not an issue at all.
Hey Rachel! Ik you probably won't see this but, congrats!!! Anyways I'm 14 and I really wish my parents would have taken more home videos so maybe you should make another account and private the videos so she can see when she's older. It's would probably mean alot to her! I understand the whole privacy thing tho.
Rachel when your pushing does it actually feel like an hour or does it seem to go fast? (:
we really want to see at least a picture of the baby.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Rachel! This was a great video and super informative! :)
Me and Julia have the same birthday awe
Thanks for sharing that with us! :)
congrats
