    This is useful, I am considering putting an additional sling ring on my Conn 10M. The existing one is in the wrong place for correct balance when standing. It feels like the neck/mouthpiece is trying to attack me 😳. Apparently it's a well known issue, and has the nickname the Conn Cobra bite 😂. I don't have to worry too much about the lacquer...most of it has worn off 😎.

      That is very real and we definitely move the strap ring up in our Uberhauls in the Sax ProShop. Adding an extra ring is also an option. If you have any reservations about doing soldering yourself it's best to take it to a tech who has experience soldering on band instruments.

    How do you keep track of the exact location of the post for replacement? Screw it in to the rod?

    • @MusicMediccom
      @MusicMediccom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can use the rod and can also use with the the key to make sure everything is aligned and spaced properly.

    I don't think it is silver solder...

      This is a silver bearing soft solder, for soft soldering, not brazing/hard soldering.

    what is the make of your torch , and how much is it ?thanks

      We use a Smith Acetylene torch, the NE1804. Your local welding supply should have the torch and the gas.

    Don't think that many have tourch with gas balloon, and position of the post is not ideal with out the cup.

    • @MusicMediccom

      Because this is just a demonstration, the post position is not exact. We were not worried about it, just wanting to show the technique first.
