The Khilafat issue was one such cause. In 1920 the British imposed a harsh treaty on the Turkish Sultan or Khalifa. People were furious about this as they had been about the Jallianwala massacre. Also, Indian Muslims were keen that the Khalifa be allowed to retain control over Muslim sacred places in the erstwhile Ottoman Empire. The leaders of the Khilafat agitation, Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali, now wished to initiate a full-fledged Non-Cooperation Movement. .

Sir can you please shed some light on the moplah massacre that happened during the khilafat movement.
And why did gandhi turn a blind eye to the genocide in Moplah as stated by BR Ambedkar.
Not only turn a blind eye he blamed the hindu community for the atrocities being committed on them.

How this is still taught in our history books never ceases to amaze me.
This comment should be pinned and topics as such should be included! Maplah Massacre, Kashmir Genocide, Gujurat Riots and many more controversial incidents are just blatantly being 'hidden away' from the public fearing communal riots and the tearing of the secular fabric of India. But it is necessary to study and understand the failure of the government and the people that led to what happened. If history is not studied carefully and learnt from, then it is highly likely that history will inevitably repeat itself.

Watching this video I just came to know why Indian education system making unskilled labours (slaves). Exam oriented study.
Tell them the truth buddy. Tell them the Moplah genocide. Tell them the real history.
Idk why Khilafat is even taught as a part this chapter. The motivation wasn't even close to the national cause. It's a shame.
