Yes, the Jabberwock is assuredly a dangerous beast. The scroll hands out the bonus at random, so you can end up with a Bat-slaying weapon - a total waste! The Medusas can confuse you (better than being turned to stone) and that can be deadly if you cannot strike back because you hit in the wrong direction. Vampires are a nuisance even if you kill them in 2 or 3 strokes they get hits in and sap your hit-point total. I've come out of encounters with under 20 points maximum and thus been easy prey for medium creatures. The +9, +9 two handed sword of dragon slaying is called draca-hunta and is my choice since I am Dragonlord, Dragonrider, Dragonborn and Dragonslayer.
Hrothgar the Dungeoncrawler Is there no counter to the confusion of the Medusa? In Stone Soup potions of curing or an amulet of clarity will clear one's thoughts enough to slay the offending beast. I remember playing Rouge back when I was a kid in the 80's, and I remember it being very very difficult.
I now understand, thank you!
You're welcome
Shouldn't the monster affected by the vorpalized weapon be a Jabberwock?
